We had an excellent food tour in Oaxaca with Antonio Baalachi. He was wonderful and made sure that we experienced not just the food, but also the culture. We had delicious mole in the market and then went through the market learning and sampling all that Oaxaca has to offer. We also went on a further walk for more treats and a final lunch. We highly recommend Antonio and Secret Food Tours.

Really great food tour with Armando, we visited 2 markets, different stalls, then meandered through the city for some more local specialties. We had a full lunch at a nice rooftop restaurant and then went for an amazing dessert. Armando was fun and knowledgeable

We really enjoyed the Secret Food Tour of Oaxaca. Armando, our guide, took us to 2 mercados, 2 restaurants, and a shop. We got to taste most of the foods of Oaxaca! We had a small group of 4, and Armando was knowledgeable and patient with all of our questions. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Oaxaca City!

Diego was a GREAT host for this tour, and fortunately, we were able to take it with another couple. Oaxaca is such a vibrant food city, and it was a nice touch to get into bustle of the markets as well as take in some relaxing moments on a nice terrace for a cocktail and tlyaduas. Overall, a good mix of food and drink to try. Worth it to get the drinks package, which gets you a cocktail at one of the stops and some mezcal at the final stop. Highly recommend!

Whatever you do, don’t eat ANYTHING ahead of time. Our guide led us through the markets, restaurants, and specialty food shops over the course of approximately three hours. We ate manageable portions while sampling several types of chapulines. We chose to have drinks with our experience and on a hot day, I’m glad we did. I would recommend this tour if you’re new to Oaxacan cuisine, but I would also recommend to anyone who’s already familiar because you may discover something new.
