What To Expect
Martyrs' Lane
Martyrs’ Lane in Baku is a solemn hilltop memorial honoring those who died during Black January (1990) and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Visitors see rows of black marble graves, the Eternal Flame monument, the Turkish and British memorials, and a small mosque. It also offers one of the best panoramic views of Baku and the Caspian Sea, making it both a place of remembrance and quiet reflection.
Highland Park (Dağüstü Park) in Baku is a scenic hilltop park overlooking the city and the Caspian Sea. It’s known for its wide terraces, tree-lined paths, and sweeping views of the Flame Towers, Boulevard, and Baku Bay. The park is also home to the Eternal Flame and Martyrs’ Lane, making it both a peaceful spot for strolling and a place of historical significance.

5.00Ell was such a fun, caring guy with a great sense of humor plus he captures good photos . As someone who’s naturally inquisitive, I loved how patiently and thoroughly he answered all my questions about the country (he really knows his stuff). Being a traveler himself, he shared not just travel tips but also thoughtful life advice. He honestly felt like a big brother you could count on even if it was just for a moment during the trip.

5.00El was an amazing guide we had for a few days in Baku, Azerbaijan! He speaks fantastic English, is personable, catered to our needs, and is very knowledgeable of the history, culture, food, architecture, and Baku today. Azerbaijan is a gem is needs to be put at the top of the map for top travel destinations—it’s a melting pot of rich culture and a beautiful city. We enjoyed going to the outskirts of the city with El to also see the glyphs, the ever burning flames, and geothermal mud landscapes. Would go back again and definitely use El! From the moment the tour started, Elle was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. He made the city come alive with stories, local insights, and thoughtful recommendations. Whether we were exploring the Old City, walking along the Boulevard, or visiting cultural sites, he always made sure everyone felt comfortable and engaged. Elle’s passion for Baku and Azerbaijani culture was truly contagious. He went above and beyond to make the experience special for us. Knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging, he made the history and culture of Baku very interesting. From the stunning Flame Towers to the ancient Old City, he knew the details well and answered all our questions with enthusiasm. He even guided us to the best places for the local cuisine.
