Our tour starts from Cluj. We will pick you up from your chosen point of departure. We will then begin our picturesque drive to Corvin Castle.
Castelul Corvinilor
Cross over the drawbridge of Corvin Castle and pass into a world full of history and legend, marvel at the high vaulted ceilings of the Knight’s Hall, take in the austere beauty of the chapel, and finally venture out into the courtyard and peer down nearly 100 feet into the castle well while pondering the meaning of its mysterious inscription. I will also be available to serve as your tour guide, offering you historical information and translation if needed. For those who are interested, there is also a guided tour with headphones available to visitors to the castle.

We had a great time on this tour in Transylvania. János was a friendly, knowledgeable, and capable guide and driver. His itinerary was logical and convenient, with the Deva Fortress being a short drive from the Corvin Castle. His lunch suggestion was very good. Corvin Castle is a striking castle, with beautiful views and a lot of well preserved rooms (my favorite was the partially preserved fresco on the loggia). We visited in off-season, which made it easier to enjoy every room at our pace. Deva Fortress did not have a lot of signs or historic details to share, but the views were stunning and the citadel is impressive. All in all, a worthwhile trip.
