Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque
The first sight on the tour is Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque which is truly a masterpiece of the world architecture. It took 6 years to erect it and in 2001 it was successfully opened. This mosque is a traditional light Islamic building made from sandstone and marble. It has got 5 minarets – one main and 4 side minarets which create a special distinctive look. The internal design is rich in mosaics, huge handmade Persian carpets and chandeliers decorated with crystals.

It was a jam packed day hitting all the major tourist spots in Muscat. A bit rushed as I’d love to spend more time at the mosque and visit one of the forts. But an efficient way to see all the key attractions in one day.

Very good. The guide and assistant are friendly and helpful. The mosque took a bit too long, the opera visit/ explorations were not detailed enough

The tour was worth the money! If I had to describe the guide, Jamal, in one word, I would say protective! He was always looking around, making sure everybody was safe, close to him, understood what he was explaining, and was enjoying the tour. I even left my shirt on the bus, and when he had the chance, he went the extra mile — drove back to my hotel and left it at the reception! Overall, it was a really positive experience. Pity that Erdogan was there the same day, so the Al Alam Palace was closed, and we had to skip it. :)

I wanted to see the major attractions of Muscat and had only few hours, so i decided to book this half day tour. It was very easy to book, I received several reminders of the upcoming tour, the day before I was advised of the time when I will be picked up from my hotel. Our guide Jamal was very knowledgeable and entertaining, he has shown beautiful Muscat in 4 hours. Would recommend this tour to anyone who is short on time and wanted to explore the city. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

I had an amazing city tour in Muscat and can't recommend it enough — especially with our guide, Jamal, who made the experience personal, insightful, and truly memorable. We started the day at the breathtaking Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a serene and majestic space that left a lasting impression. Jamal explained the intricate design elements, the spiritual significance, and even small details that we would have easily missed without him. From there, we headed to the local fish market, followed by a quick stop at a traditional grocery market. These places gave us a taste of everyday life in Muscat — raw, real, and full of energy. Jamal pointed out things like Omani dates, fresh seafood, and the subtle differences between traditional and modern shopping habits. Our next stop was the vibrant Mutrah Souq, one of the oldest in the Arab world. It was a sensory experience — colorful fabrics, incense, silverware, antiques — and Jamal helped us navigate it all while sharing bits of history and helping us bargain like locals. We then explored Old Muscat, with its beautiful coastal roads, historic architecture, and quiet charm. It felt like stepping into another time. Jamal gave thoughtful commentary about the city’s evolution, the Sultan’s legacy, and Oman's role in regional history. Finally, we made our way to the stunning Royal Opera House and the luxurious mall attached to it — a contrast to the morning markets, but equally fascinating. It was a great way to end the tour on a relaxing, modern note. What made this day so special was Jamal himself — knowledgeable, respectful, and genuinely passionate about Oman. He didn’t just show us places — he shared stories, context, and culture in a way that made everything come alive. If you're visiting Muscat, I highly recommend this tour. It’s the perfect way to understand the heart of the city — and Jamal is the perfect guide to show it to you.
