Zona Colonial
After the amazing experience in Gualey we headed to the Colonial Zone. Here the tour begins in the emblematic Cathedral Square, one of the most representative places in the Colonial Zone. Here, your professional guide will warmly welcome you and tell you about the history of this historic area, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its deep knowledge of history and architecture, the guide will guide you through the narrow cobblestone streets, while telling you about the rich cultural heritage of Santo Domingo, the first city of the New World. Our guide Tony will take you to the most emblematic and important parts of the colonial city. In this part of the tour we will enjoy lunch in a crazy food restaurant, superb views and a pleasant walk

5.00I honestly could not recommend this experience more. Heribento is an excellent guide. I was picked up on time and communication was great. The time in Gualey will give you a chance to experience a neighborhood in Santo Domingo that most travelers do not get to. It was presented through the eyes of a local, and I got to hear peoples stories and experience a slice of their life. The colonial zone is a more common experience, but Heribento made it come alive and offered more than a standard run through of the sites. Again, I could not recommend this this experience more.

5.00With this tour I knew places and history of Santo Domingo that on my own would not have been possible. It allows you to be closer to the reality of the city and feel the authenticity of the people. I highly recommend to have another look at SD and leave wanting to know more.

The tour of the Colonial Zone is fascinating and the passage through Gualey offers a very real and enriching perspective of the community. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. A different and highly recommended tour to get to know Santo Domingo in a more authentic way.
