Two-day Aral Sea tour with Ayimtour was simply amazing and will stay with us for a very long time! The landscapes are completely surreal and the story of the biggest ecological disaster or recent decades was relayed very well by our superb guide. Huge thanks to Ayjamal from Ayimtour, the tour was very well organised. We had the best guide imaginable - a local Nukus archeologist Aben who told us all the stories of local land and people as well as Aral Sea, we learned a lot about Karakalpak culture and customs. We had a very competent and confident driver and very much enjoyed this very bumpy ride! We opted to stay in a newer camp by the Aral Sea (Aral Plaza), they had an option of a yurt or room stay (a very clean 4-bed room with shower/toilet and sea view). The camp was 400m from the water, which is the closest of them all, but keep in mind that the water is now retreating by 80 meters every year! Lunch on day 1 at a local family teahouse in Moynak - food was absolutely delicios, cooked by a former restaurant chef. My dietary requirements (no meat) were catered for and chicken/fish/veggies meals was prepared during the trip. We also stayed at the new Jipek Joly hotel in Nukus before and after the trip and had a very good meal at the Turkish place just around the corner. I highly recommend Ayimtour for the Aral Sea tour.

We found it very rewarding and recommended! To the Unpacked were added the "grazing light-like" Add impressions, e.g. more modern gas drilling rigs , Chinese plankton collectors in large numbers And various desert forms from total wasteland around Komsomolskaya to Sahara-like at the ship's cemetery, rugged at the oldest course of the riverbank. Yurt accommodation very nice with a view, great food, (however no electricity at night ) and eventually the wood-powered stove weakened (we had 2 degrees minus in mid-October). Our Russian-speaking , very friendly driver Mitbai is a super guy; the desert slopes require good fitness. By the way, car first class, and the material is truly not spared on this tour!

An incredible experience. If you want to see the Aral sea region, you will need a tour, and I can't recommend Ayim Tour enough. Our charismatic and easy going guide Yusuf was very informative and talked us through everything in detail. Our driver Muktar was a pro. And thanks to Askar for his communication and getting the tour organised - thanks to everyone at Ayim Tour! You will see many parts of Karakalpakstan, and you will be in good hands!

Excellent organization and sympathy. Everything went as planned. Always available for any request from us. The trip of 3 days/ 2 nights is best to properly appreciate what remains of the Aral Sea.

Overall the experience was fun and adventurous. The tour largely follows the established route, from the guided tour of the necropolis to the approach to the abandoned Russian basilica. The yurt camp is perfectly equipped and with direct access to the beach of Lake Aral, providing the opportunity to swim and benefit from the benefits of mud. The driver was extremely helpful and accommodating, meeting any of our requests with a smile. Certainly, the tour is highly recommended, except for those who suffer from car sickness, since the roads covered are mostly unpaved and particularly winding. In any case, it is clear that it is a unique and unrepeatable experience and therefore not to be missed.

Amazing trip with great driver. Some highlights from the trip: - Mizdakhan Necropolis: ancient site of the Zoroastrian holy-city of Mazda - Aral Sea: yurt camping next to what is left of the Aral Sea - extremely remote, nearly 100km from the nearest significant town - Qubla-ustyurt: random settlement in the middle of the desert - cool to see a village emerge from the cast emptiness of the plateau Ayimtours is also extremely flexible with their tours. We were able to customise our own pickup times and itinerary. They also only took payment when we arrived on the day of the tour, which made the whole journey very flexible.

Fantastic. It was one of the most incredible experiences we had in Central Asia, if not the best. We agreed to have an English-speaking student tour guide, and we loved exploring with him - I hope we remain friends for life :)

It was a wonderful experience, we enjoyed the trip so much. The booking was made easily by email, they then picked us up in Khiva and took us to Nukus where payment was arranged; we were offered free tea and toilets in the hotel Jipek Joli and then the tour to Aral Sea started (2 days, 1 night). The 4x4 car was in good state and our driver was super nice and professional, he made our experience even better. The camp was also very nice, located a few steps from the Aral and all the facilities brand new, the yurt where we slept was ample and comfortable and the food at the camp and in the local restaurants was also excellent.

The 2-day Aral Sea Tour was great: very well organized, with photo stops on the way; the yurt camp accommodation had a great view of the Aral Sea. Ayimtour was very responsive and flexible: as a solo traveler I very much appreciated the possibility of a shared tour to cut the cost. Also possible to make a transfer to their credit card instead of ubiquitous cash payments. They also organized for me a transfer between Khiva and Nukus through the desert fortresses and it was a memorable experience on its own.

This trip was a magical desert adventure. We spend hours driving across the endless desert plain of the Ustyurt Plateux. Stopping frequently for asounding views over the Aral Sea. Below us giant sections of the cliff had broken away and were balenced like huge chunks of cake forming canyons and valleys below. The camp is a lot larger than expected, there must have been 80 to 100 tourists. Do get up for the sunrise, I walked a km or two to the right and was rewarded as the sun rose and illuminated the huge rock stacks. The swim was highlight, bobbing around like a cork. We did the 3 day trip, heading further north to an old soviet military outpost then onto a night at a family home in Kubla Usturt. I did enjoy this but would opt for the 2 day trip in hindsight. Our driver was 'shouders' and was excellent, the while experince was 5 star.
