Asakusa Nakamise Koike
Nakamise Shopping Street is a shopping street that stretches along the main approach to Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, Taito Ward, Tokyo, and is one of the oldest shopping streets in Japan. [Characteristics] The stone-paved approach stretches for about 250 meters from Kaminarimon to Hozomon, and is lined with restaurants, souvenir shops, and other establishments. There are many stores selling Japanese sweets, crafts, folk crafts, toys, and more. There are many stores offering demonstrations and where you can eat freshly made food on the spot. It is also a popular tourist destination for foreign tourists.
Senso-ji Temple
Enjoy a tour packed with interesting stories related to the development of Asakusa and Tokyo, such as the origin of the Asakusa Sanja Festival, named after two fisherman brothers who pulled up the Kannon Bodhisattva, the principal image of Sensoji Temple, in a net, and the origin of Asakusa Shrine, which enshrines the deity of Sensoji Temple.

5.00We had a wonderful 2 day private tour around some populate spots and many hidden gems we didn’t expect to see. Our guide Kazuo Hirose was wonderful in every way. He adapted our itinerary to our likes and dislikes and made sure to show us the real Tokyo. We even got a mini Tokyo food tour as he showed us the best places for sushi, Japanese red bean filled pancakes, green tea, takoyaki meats on a stick, Japanese curry and as many coffee stops as we wanted. We visited the shensoji temple , the Meiji Shrine, the Imperial palace and even the amazing Tokyo Skytree. We were very pleased with Hirose as our guide.

5.00We thank Kazuo Hirose for this wonderful afternoon. Very good mood and friendly he has already received us. Afterwards he showed us quite great the sights in the area and explained. He also showed us a lot of great, small shops, with tradition that probably would never have been found. We also thank you very much for the flexibility in the tour. He has fully followed our wishes. It was also particularly interesting for us that he answered a lot of questions about the Japanese and their everyday lives. Very exciting, very entertaining, Kazuo, thank you for this unforgettable afternoon.

5.00I had a wonderful tour experience with Mr Hirose Kazuo. He was very kind, understanding, professional, warm, and made the entire experience very enjoyable for myself and my friend. He followed the tour itinerary perfectly and explained everything clearly. He provided great insight into the area’s history and culture and showed us many different wonderful shops and restaurants.
