True gem of nature is the spring of river Bunica, nestled between towering cliffs of rocky Herzegovinian hills. Just a few Hundred meters up the river from starting point is the spring of river Bunica. The whole river quietly comes out of a deep blue hole, it is just an amazing experience whose beauty leaves no one untouched. Chances are that you will by yourself when you arrive here since it is not well known so far and it is hard to reach without kayak. Dip in a chilly waters of crystal clear mountain beauty . Bunica is the most tranquil river and is child friendly. It is slow enough that you can paddle up or down the river with same effort. You are the boss of your own adventure, you will be going by yourself so take as much time as you want at your favourite stops. There are several beaches along the way as you go down the river to a caffe-grill where you can stop by for quick lunch. This is also the turning point as the river becomes shallow and a bit harder to paddle.
After visiting spring of Bunica, the slow descent down the river can begin. Now is the time to pay attention to wildlife, especially birds in migrating season. Rare sightings of a majestic Great Heron leave our guests breathless. The descent down the river lasts about 20 minutes. The river grill is your turning point. At the grill you can stop by for a refreshment or even light lunch. Now all is left is light paddle back to camp.

We were picked up on time by a young Bosnian named mili who was very sympathetic unt accommodating. A short trip from mostar to your camp there he showed us everything again and explained where we can drive long in perfect English. A beautiful tour to a spring from which the small river rises With crystal clear cold river water We would definitely repeat this tour on our next trip at A big thank you to mili who made us feel like friends and not customers

There were a few parts of this kayaking experience that I think were sold inaccurately - we made the most of it and enjoyed the first part of the kayak, but I want to share that hear so you know before you book. Things that were good: -The tour owner was lovely and clearly wanted this to be a nice experience. -The first part was beautiful and would be hard to see yourself without being driven out to this remote area. - The kayaking itself was very easy and relaxing with a nice stream to carry you in parts. Things that you should know: - This is not a guided tour, the guide picks you up from the city and takes you to a remote part of the river where he provides you with the kayaks (we did not receive life vests as stated in the description - we didn't need them but just be clear with kids/low swimming capability if you need them) and provides you with some very quick instructions and sends you on your way (we were not sure how far to go as a result of these instructions). - We didn't receive any information about the geography/history/natural flaura and fauna or anything really about the location we were kayaking on, so I would say it's less of a tour and more of a pick-up drop-off and provision of a kayak experience. - The description says you can stop at a cafe at some point in the kayak. The cafe is closed for renovations, we weren't told this until after when we said we couldn't find the cafe. - In the first part you have to carry the kayak over a section of rocks which was fine for us (young ppl who go to the gym) but I feel should be more warned about here as it requires good balance and strength to lift the kayak and walk in the stream of water and with unstable footing.

Kayaking up the spring of Bunica river was one of the highlights of our trip. The quietness (there was no one around) in combination with the stunning nature made this a really special place. On top of that having a swim in the spring was extremely refreshing, you'll feel highly energized after! We continued our tour downwards the river of Bunica and this was just as spectacular, we enjoyed all the beautiful flora and fauna, there was so much to see! This is an experience you shouldn't miss if you are around! Alem was super helpful in making this experience the best possible! Thanks a lot! def recommend!

What a really special place! The kayaks were provided to us & Alem gave us all the information we would need. Kayaking up to the Spring of Bunica was easy, even the part where we had to carry the Kayak over a small rocky section! We were the only ones at the Spring which made it feel even more magical. Getting to plunge into the spring surrounded by an orchestra of nature is something I’ll never forget & always wish to experience again!

I have only been able to try kayaking once so far, but I already now for sure, that the experience at cold river expeditions camp was a unique one. We were provided with all the equipment and tips by the owner and got started straight away. The tour was one of the best experiences I have ever had on vacation. Not only was I able to see the absolutely unmistakable beauty of nature, I was also able to take super great pictures and video clips, all in I just felt at home - I was reminded of my carefree childhood days - we were surrounded by singing birds and the sounds of nature that you can hardly hear anywhere else, it was really idyllic - like a journey back to myself. I would recommend this kayak tour to anyone!

This was truly a magical experience!!!! Even after travelling to many places, I can say that the nature here was probably the most beautiful I've ever seen. If you need a place to reset, relax, or make a memory this is an easy choice. Besides the beautiful nature, it offers everything you may need, and the host is so kind and willing to help in any way. I 100000% recommend!

It was an very nice kayak experience, going first to the spring of the Bunika. Such a quiet place, pure blue water, birds, nature… After that going down the river. So quiet and wild nature.

We spent a wonderful afternoon on the river. The Buna spring is a dream! The water is so blue, unbelievable! The nature is largely untouched. The river flows leisurely, so the route is a truly enjoyable tour. Alem, the boss, is so nice, definitely recommended!

Paddling up and and down the Bunica river is a truly memorable experience. It's a birdwatchers paradise, and there's lot of other wildlife to be seen along the coastline. We kayaked the river after a period of heavy rainfall, but nonetheless it was still generally calm, and we had no problem navigating up and down without having to use too much elbow grease. And besides the kayaking, it was a pleasure meeting Alem! Being on the water was definitely a highlight during our trip in Bosnian and Herzegovina!
