What To Expect
Labeled the most beautiful village in France, the village of Sare is also one of the prettiest in the Basque country. Located at the foot of the Rhune or “Larun”, you will find in this village, a rich history and a real local atmosphere. Former smuggling country, its winding trails are very popular with hikers. A village close to the Basque coast... During this walk, we will cross the charming village of Ascain to take the Col de Saint-Ignace which culminates at 759m starting point of the famous little train of the Rhune. A few “burlingues”...and you will take height to discover pigs of the breed “Black Pigeon” in semi-free range, Pottoks and hopefully some raptors. You will be dazzled by the view of the bay of Saint Jean de Luz. …This walk will seduce....All lovers of traditional villages and pretty mountain roads...
Ascain
Ascain is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in northeastern France. Bordering Spain at the summit of the Rhune, the last Pyrenean summit, located six kilometres from the Atlantic coast, it is watered by the Nivelle, a coastal river that originates in Navarre (Spain) and crosses the French Basque Country, notably the traditional Basque province of Labourd (capital: Bayonne), of which the municipality is part.

5.00The unmissable excursion for an atypical visit of the (small part) Basque Country supervised by two passionate of this sublime region. 2h walk with 2 children8 aged 9 and 5 who have A-DO-RÉ. Wonderful memories, extraordinary landscapes. A great time! A discovery to book without further delay.

5.002h walk to discover the Basque country with 2 motorcycles and side cars, for 2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 9 years. Great experience! Possibility to be on the back of the bike from 8 years old, small coffee during the shower, discovering pigs and small hair free, good equipment provided, beautiful commented discovery. We recommend!

5.00An absolutely incredible experience with the Pbourlingeurs! The sidecar ride was a real moment of happiness from start to finish. Pascal and Philippe are very sympathetic, very warm and caring, which makes the adventure even more enjoyable. The scenery was simply beautiful, with a particularly memorable moment at the top of Mount Jara when the view was breathtaking. We discover the region in a totally different, original and immersive way. This is an activity that we highly recommend, especially for those who can’t take long hikes: it’s a great way to enjoy effortless panoramas, comfortably installed, with hair in the wind. A unique experience that we will repeat without hesitation during our next visit to the region!
