Here many different species thrive, crabs, lizards, and over 160 species birds can be found throughout the park. Also it’s a migratory bird sanctuary and a turtle nesting site. You can see monkeys, gazelles, croccodiles, herons, storks..This area is unique in its natural and wild beauty and was recently included by UNESCO in its World Natural Heritage List of protected biosphere reserves. A trip by pirogue down one of the river branches to see the pelicans, flamingos, martin fisherman and other birds or to visit some of the island fishing villages, is well worth doing. This area is very rich in eco diversities.
