Education City is an initiative of Qatar Foundation for Science, Technology, Education and Community Development. Located in Al Rayyan Municipality, it is the home of some of the world’s major Universities, Qatar National Library, a centre for Islamic Studies, Mathaf Museum (the home to the world’s largest collection of Modern Art), Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Al Shaqab Horse Racing Academy and Oxygen Park.

What To Expect

Qatar National Library
Qatar National Library acts as a steward of Qatar’s national heritage by collecting, preserving and making available the country’s recorded history. In its role as a research library with a preeminent heritage library, the Library fosters and promotes greater global insight into the history and culture of the Gulf region.

5.00We recently took a private half-day architectural tour of Doha with guide Mr. Ahmad. We wanted to learn about the culture and history of Qatar and this far exceeded our expectations. Mr. Ahmad greeted us promptly at the lobby of our hotel with a warm smile and immediately tailored the itinerary to our interests and what we have seen so far. What set Mr. Ahmad apart was his passion and storytelling ability; he spoke clearly, with excellent English, and paced the tour perfectly so as not to feel rushed. He was flexible, patient with our many questions, and went above and beyond by recommending places for lunch afterward. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Doha, and Mr Ahmad made this visit feel accessible and exciting. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking a personalized, enriching tour—worth every penny! If you’re in Doha, book with him; you won’t be disappointed.

5.00I had an absolutely wonderful and informative tour with Ahmed to Doha's Education City. He took his time to explain the buildings that are part of Education City. He allowed plenty of time for me to take photos. Ahmed also took me to see the newly opened Crystal walk. A 5-star tour. Highly recommend this tour. You got to visit their library, it is one of a kind.

He knew all the best spots not just the famous landmarks but also hidden gems I never would’ve found on my own.
