A Wonderful day spent with an excellent guide who was informative, kind and thoughtful. Visited beautiful monuments, hiked thru the forest learning about plants, birds and insects, walked along a rushing river and stopped to admire beautiful waterfalls. Followed by a walk through the White Karin village and a delicious lunch. I would highly recommend taking this day tour.

I can’t recommend this experience enough! It’s an immersion into the history and culture of northern Thailand that leaves a lasting impression and respect for these wonderful people. My guide Tong, made the experience 10x better with his great attitude, sense of humor, and deep historical knowledge. He showed up right on time and with cold water and fresh snacks from his nearby village. We had great conversations (he’s very fluent in English) throughout the day and he answered all my questions about the sites with passion and enthusiasm. I ended up booking two more excursions with him while I was in Chiang Mai. Highly recommend requesting Tong ahead of time!

An excellent and informative guide coupled with a good, safe driver. We both thoroughly enjoyed our day. Thank you very much. Nice to learn more about Thailand and it's customs.

This private tour was our best experience in Thailand! Mr. Yut was a smooth driver, always graciously opening the door for us, finding us the cleanest bathrooms and ensuring we had paper and cold water, ordering us an excellent lunch, all with a warm and polite presence. He took pictures galore of us and explained the religious symbols and royal family connections. Our time with him was interesting and peaceful at the same time. And in a continuation of the same soothing, gracious vibe, he also brought us to a very special guide, Mr. Book, who guided us for the hike and brought us to his village. Another calming, kind presence, always available to assist and take pictures, ending with fabulous village roasted coffee. (In particular, both gentlemen were caring for my mom’s knee injury and assisted my mom on the down steps—she got to enjoy a rigorous hike without risking a fall). We also enjoyed the comfortable air-conditioned vehicle.

We had an absolutely amazing experience! We would recommend this to anyone looking to have a fun day outside of the city. Tong was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and was a fantastic tour guide and driver! A+ for the English and for taking great care! We also shared many laughs with Mr. Sher - who guided us on a very enjoyable hike! Delicious food, amazing waterfall, great coffee, beautiful/easy hike and a cultural experience we will never forget!

Our tour to Doi Inthanon National Park was a highlight of our trip. We started with a beautiful waterfall, followed by a guided trek led by a local White Karen tribe guide. The hike took us through forest, past waterfalls and rice fields, and ended with the most delicious strawberries we’ve ever had. The trek is about two hours and not easy—you should be in moderately good shape, and it’s not recommended if you have knee issues. We then enjoyed a coffee tasting in the village before driving to the summit, the highest point in Thailand, and visiting the royal pagodas with stunning views. Our guide Kai was excellent—very knowledgeable about Thailand’s hill tribes, their migration, and the Thai royal family. Highly recommended.

We had the coolest walking guide in the Doi Inthanon nature reserve. His name was Beau / perfect English learned from YouTube classes. He lives in one of the villages within the reserve. We passed his beautiful wife as she is also a guide. Our tour guide that spent the entire day with us and was also the driver is named Teerayut Yut and he knows all about coffee. It was a fun conversation about how different coffees are grown, prepared and dried. The mountains around Chiang Mai grow Arabica beans which have less caffeine and a better taste than the Robusta coffee beans grown at lower elevations. You can see the coffee beans on the trees in a couple of photos. We had a delicious lunch after a 2-3 kilometer walk - it seemed further and Beau was great with lending a stable hand in addition to the walking sticks in areas that were a bit more rugged than my legs can take right now. Then we visited the pagodas built by the Thai military to honor the 9th Kimg of Thailand and his wife the Queen. Her pagoda was violet colored and had blue decorations because she was born on a Saturday. The flower gardens were behind the Queens pagoda. Then off again on another short trek where another King & Queen’s ashes were placed and a monument to them.

We had a wonderful time on this in depth tour. Our guide Ekky “Ed” was spectacular. He regaled us with great stories of Thai history on the drive to the park. We then saw beautiful waterfalls, hiked a lovely trail, had great coffee and more. We really appreciate how thoughtful he was in putting together the tour. Since it was a private tour we had some time alone at lunch and at some of the sites. He also knew where every quality bathroom was and came prepared to make sure we had everything we needed. This was a great way to see the countryside and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great day outside Chiang Mai.
