We highly recommend a visit to the new Dominicania Cultural Center. You could easily spend a half a day or more here learning about Dominican culture and enjoying a multitude of activities and tastes celebrating all that is the Dominican Republic and the rich history.

Had a so so weather day and decided to go here. The guided tours will take at least three hours(ours did) depending on size of group. Not many people there so we had our own guide Lillian who was great, very good English. The history of DR was nice to learn, there was a Carnaval style dance group. You go to many stores that also offer tours: a hat place, coffee, rum tasting, golf and baseball, jewelry and cigars, probably missed one or two. Overall a great experience, definitely recommend

We were picked up at our resort and met at the resort by our own personal tour guide Kelvin. The attraction is only two months old and not at all crowded, but it’s so good it will soon be packed. We had the opportunity to make a hat, make a Yuka sample, grind a gem, sample coffee, sample fine chocolate, participate in traditional dance with costumed dancers, try baseball and golf simulators, learn how fine cigars are made, and sample expensive rums. Each experience was housed in a fully staffed individual building with videos, displays, and merchandise to go along with the history lesson. Every staff member was very friendly. Kelvin was extraordinary. The total cost was $103 each. Souvenirs and a dinner are extra, but the full experience is an available for admission cost, and there is no pressure to purchase extras. Lasts four hours.
