The Japanese garden, Ritsurin Park, was awarded the highest rating of three stars in the French travel guidebook Michelin-Green Guide-Japon, meaning ‘worth the bother of a trip’. If you come to this special place, we highly recommend that you come dressed in kimono and take a walk in the Japanese garden. We have several kimono designs available. Let's choose the kimono that suits you best together. Dressing takes approximately 30 minutes. Our kimono rental facility is located very close to Ritsurin Park, so you can walk to the park after getting dressed. Afterwards, in about 1~3.5 hours, enjoy a walk through the Japanese gardens to your heart's content in your kimono and take your own photos at various locations. If you like, for an extra fee, you can have a cup of green tea(Matcha) in this park, or take a ride on a Japanese boat, and have your photo taken with it. Whether you are travelling alone, with family, or with special someone, this will be a perfect memento of your visit to Japan. *In addition, a professional photographer can be arranged for approximately 5,000 yen per hour. The kimono experience was definitely a highlight of our trip to Japan. Our dressers, Ru and her mother were very helpful and accomodating. I would definitely recommend this experience if you are visiting the beautiful Ritsurin Gardens.

I highly recommend thi Kimono experience at Ritsurin Garden. I took a taxi from the cruise ship port. The lovely young lady said that it was very busy the day before but not that day. I made a reservation on-line to make sure I had an appt. There were many different kimonos to chose from of beautiful colors. I was by myself so she offered to take pictures of me around the garden. Usually whomever you are with can take the pictures. She took many pictures in different settings. Its important to take at least one video of you walking along and twirling your umbrella. That turned out awesome. The garden is beautiful and I took several pictures of that as well. This experience was one of many highlights of my trip.(taxi was 1000 yen one way $8). Going back I shared a taxi with someone from the ship.}
