What To Expect
Upon arriving at the meeting point, you’ll meet your certified naturalist guide, who will provide rubber boots and a flashlight, along with a brief safety orientation. Once equipped, you’ll enter a private property near Drake Bay and begin a guided night walk along tropical rainforest trails. For approximately 3 hours, you’ll move at a moderate pace while your guide pauses to help you observe and photograph reptiles, insects, spiders, frogs, and other nocturnal organisms. You’ll also learn how to identify wildlife through sounds, eye-shine reflections, and camouflage patterns, and you may spot sleeping birds near the river if conditions allow. Throughout the walk, your guide will interpret behaviors, adaptations, and ecological relationships that only become visible in the dark. At the end of the experience, you’ll return on foot to the meeting point, where you’ll return the provided equipment before concluding the tour.

5.00About 2.5h we walked with guide first through a stream, then through primary forest on a private property. We have seen many different spider and frog species, as well as bird nests with birds. We also experienced a possum, a small snake and a sloth right next to us. The paths are sometimes difficult to walk, you should be sure of your steps. Rubber boots and flashlights are provided. We really liked it!

5.00We saw many frogs, some birds, spiders, scorpions and other species. The walk was adventurous, we had lots of fun walking through the river and the rain forest. Thanks to our super friendly and experienced guides, we can recommend doing this tour when you are in the area
