Our class takes place in our beautiful newly renovated store and studios in the heart of the city center. Our Award Winning Experience is approx. 2Hours. You'll find us, ready to greet you and host a fun experience, you will never forget! This workshop is great to do with friends and family, from ages 10 and up. It is a hands on workshop where you get to create a meaningful moment of your time spent in Dublin.

Please note we are located in 2 beautiful, old period buildings with plenty of stairs and no access to a lift.
If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you will not be permitted entry to the workshop and are not entitled to a refund/reschedule.
Our Studio space is small and we cannot offer luggage storage.

What To Expect
Learn how to make a sterling silver ring from scratch, with our AWARD WINNING EXPERIENCE! Start off by marking your silver to the length you require by choosing which finger you would like it on. Then, you'll use a handsaw to cut it to size, you'll learn how to form the ring, using a mallet to shape it to the ring mandrel. You'll watch as it is soldered in front of you by an expert tutor—all the time, she will explain exactly what she is doing. Then you'll learn to file it by using different hand files—this is fun, as it is when you get to individualize your ring, deciding what curve you would like it to have. This can make a great difference to the end result. Next, you'll choose from three very different textures. You get to use your creativity with the planishing hammer to achieve the texture you require. People love this part as it's when you make your ring truly individual. Finally you get to choose your polish - polished only on the inside, to give it an artistic/rustic look or the glittery sparkle of a fully polished ring. It's your decision. Then the best bit—you get to keep your ring! It's the ultimate souvenir for remembering your trip to Ireland!

5.00I only went (male 81 yrs old) because my wife and grandson (21 yrs old) were interested. I could not believe how much I enjoyed myself. I do not remember the young ladies names that worked with us but both of them were wonderful teachers. An experience worth every penny I paid!!

5.00We had the best time at the ring forging workshop at Silver Works! My two daughters and I each made our own sterling silver ring with Orla, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. Orla was wonderful — she explained every step clearly, helped us through the process, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and fun. Even though none of us had done anything like this before, she made it easy and enjoyable. We actually did the workshop to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday while we were visiting Dublin, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. It was such a special activity to do together, and now we each have a beautiful ring that we made ourselves as a memento from our time in Dublin. If you’re looking for something unique and memorable to do while visiting the city, I highly recommend the Silver Works workshop!

5.00Instruction was very easy to follow with the patient teacher, no previous experience needed. We were a small group of 6, which was perfect. Great personal souvenir! Booked on short notice and did not regret it at all. Highly recommended if you are looking for something active on a cold rainy day. ;-)
