Maki was such an amazing guide. She shared so much about Japanese culture with us and we got to see so many great sites. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. I highly recommend this!!!

Wow! Scenic Cycle tour - just book it!! Best tour we have done. Our host Maki was fantastic. The destinations and pace of the ride was perfect. Not strenuous, Kyoto is as flat as a pool table, safe and away from busy roads. It’s a cultural experience, and being on the e-bike you see more and have a breeze over you the whole time. Just loved it.

Maki guided me to the part of Kyoto tourists never see, all the way north, up the mountain, past a samurai guard/teahouse dating back to 1600s - to the Buddhist temple built by Tokugawa Ieyasu as a school, later converted to a temple. Poetic experience of pure beauty, no crowds, no noise - just the experience. Maki is an excellent guide, with in depth understanding of Japanese culture and history, which she explains using personal examples, making her explanations relatable and easy to understand. And she knows a lot, just ask. Want to know where are the teeth of Tokugawa Ieyasu? Just ask Maki. The bikes are in excellent shape, well maintained, so if you are worried whether they can carry a 100kg tourist - they can, they carried me. Highly recommended, very professional company and a great experience.

Let me introduce you to Maki — my amazing guide on an e-bike tour of Kyoto’s hidden gems. She showed me places that were unusual, unique, and absolutely breathtaking — spots most people would never find on their own. This tour was so special. Every stop felt like a secret waiting to be discovered. These hidden gems deserve to be seen by everyone. It’s an incredible experience — one of the best things I’ve done in Japan, and I’m completely in love with it. Maki is kind, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about Kyoto. 5 stars is not enough. This tour needs to be on everyone's must-do list!

This was the most incredible experience of Kyoto, and my guide Maki could not have done more to show me such an unstated side of Kyoto. Being in the middle of June, I expected to encounter hoards of people everywhere I went. And while I love to explore new places, over tourism can certainly put a dampener on on these things. Incredibly, Maki sought out the lesser know spots, allowing me to soak up the magic of the city without hundreds of tourists. The experience was wholly authentic, and Maki's manner was service minded throughout. Maki weaved personal experience and stories into the various stops, creating context and significance around what I was seeing. This is worlds apart from a genetic tour guide experience where context and personal attachment is often missed. I have spend 15 years in Japan on and off, and learnt more about every day culture in this afternoon with Maki than I have in the last five years combined. For anyone looking to depend their understanding of this place, and discover the secret spot of Kyoto - book a tour with Maki: a talent guide and kind human through and through.

This tour was fantastic. It was fun, interesting and beautiful. Maki is a great guide who clearly loves Tokyo and knows a lot about the city. We saw beautiful places we would have otherwise missed. We all loved being in the ebikes. The day was really hot, but Maki was prepared, made drink stops and adjusted accordingly. We loved her energy and dedication. We would recommend visiting Kyoto with Maki and ebiking!
