Riding an e-bike comfortably along beautiful Vipava river and sticking to the roads less traveled, you’ll discover the rich history and vivid landscape of this amazing wine county. Tasting the best ice cream in “Little Venice”, searching for Napoleon’s lost cannonball, and unlocking the mystery of king Theodosis – there’s much to take in on The River Trail E-bike tour!
We’ll visit medieval remains of Roman fortress and continue our tour along the river. Our first stop is in the charming town of Vipava, also called a “Little Venice”. It’s a perfect time for ice cream, the best in the valley. Crossing Napoleons bridge starts our hunt for his missing cannonball. The mystery will unfold when reaching the medieval stronghold of Vipavski Križ where we stop for a coffee and relaxed stroll through tiny streets. Another stretch of cycling and we’re at the end of this tour enjoying a magnificent panorama over the valley and traditional Slovenian dessert “štruklji”.

5.00We wanted to take a bike tour and saw Rockvelo online. We were warmly received despite arriving unannounced. Everything was arranged and we could make a super nice bike ride! The bikes were super nice and the route was fantastic! Upon returning we got grapes and we could sit quietly. Top experience!

5.00Four viking ladies from Norway were seeking adventure on a cloudy day, we found Rockvelo el-bikes and the coolest guide Timothey. Through pictures valleys and fertile vineyards we rode the Vipava-Tour solid as a rock. Strong legs, laughter, speed and a cappuccino on the top! To finish off we had some unique local wine, it made our pallets sing a way. Four happy women reports; What a lovely lovely day!

5.00Although initially a little hard to find once we were there Alex ( the owner) welcomed us really nicely. I gave him a WhatsApp the night before ( after office hours) and he replied and sorted everything. Set up was easy and the bikes are great. The route was easy to follow and stunning. Only word of caution is we did 2.5 hours and it felt enough. Was glad to get back and get in some air con!
Alex is the perfect cycle tour guide!

5.00My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic eBike tour of the Vipava Valley with Alex as our guide. Alex was great at keeping in touch, tailored the route to suit our requirements, and helped my wife overcome her initial lack of confidence (by the end she was powering off into the distance!). We found Alex to be thoroughly engaging, with a great sense of humour. He is a fount of knowledge about the area and Slovenian culture. Despite being a very experienced cyclist he was very happy to go at a pace suitable for beginners like us. We were lucky enough to enjoy perfect weather, made frequent stops to discuss points of interest along the route, and enjoyed some wonderful locally made ice cream! The tour finished with lunch in a delightful historic village. We couldn't have wished for better hospitality, and would thoroughly recommend RockVelo to anyone who wants to get out for an exciting and educatonal ride in the countryside whilst on holiday. Thanks, Alex!

5.00My husband, son, and I did RockVelo's E-bike Vipava River Tour and loved it. We're daily cyclists at home and really enjoyed exploring this corner of Slovenia by bike. Alex was easy to connect with and coordinate the tour and our guide, Rok, was excellent. The valley is beautiful and we'd definitely recommend exploring it with Rockvelo!

5.00Normally we do not book a guide for our MTB tours. In this area, however, this is highly recommended. Rockvelo is definitely in the best hands for this, even if it should be a little more demanding. Without a guide we would never have found these fantastic trails. Alex is a great companion for the whole day. Price is fair and reasonable.
