This 6 to 8 hours, Dhofar mountain safari tour, will take you to a magical journey to the Eastern side of Salalah, where one of best landscape of the Middle East awaits you.
Taqa Castle is one of Dhofar’s most distinguished landmarks, which was built in the 19th century. Taqa Beach and Taqa city will also be covered in this tour. Koofan House and Burj Al Askar are also in Taqa.
The most popular valley of the Dhofar Region, Wadi Darbat will be your main stop. Here you will be seeing the seasonal waterfall, a spring where you can do boating (kayaking/paddle boat/motor boat) overlooking the mountain of Jabal Qara series.
Visit Tawi Attair (bird well) sinkhole.
Jabal Samhan is the highest point in Dhofar, which is above 4000 feet. From here the view is amazing and if you are lucky, you will see mountains passing below you.
Anti Gravity Point and Wadi Hanna (baobab trees) also covered in the full day safari.
Visit Mirbat Sand Dunes at the beach.

This is a private tour DAILY and if you need a group tour, that is available twice a week.
Guide availability in some European languages, such as German, Italian, French, and Polish, are limited in numbers and might not be available for your tour date. In such situations, an English-speaking guide with an Omani license will be arranged for your tour.

What To Expect
Although Taqa is famous for its castle but Taqa has a great beach also and is a great spot for birds watching. The view of Taqa city is great from the beach side.
This is old house, entrance inside is optional if you want to pay. It is good from outside as well. The place has a souvenir shop as well.

4.00Interesting and enjoyable excursion. It is a combination of visiting the sights in the West of Salalah and enjoying the nice beaches there. You can even choose, at which of the 4 Al Fazaiah beaches you will stay and possibly swim.

5.00The eastern side of the mountains (jebel) cresting around Salalah was wonderful to explore and experience! Ali Qahoor was a kind and knowledge guide who provided us a wealth of cultural, ecological, and historical context on the sites we visited and the sights we saw. I recommend this day-long excursion to anyone who visits Salalah and the Dhofar governorate.

4.00The trip provided a lot of experiences, in which our guide, Mahad, played a big role. Unfortunately, the Darbat waterfall dried up, and I think the organizing company should inform travelers about this so that they are not disappointed. In my opinion, the placement of swan boats and wooden houses did a lot of harm to the landscape, and I was especially touched by the fact that a small antelope was kept in a cramped cage. Fortunately, Mahad managed to offset this negative with his pleasant humor and the extras added to the trip, and with his help we were able to glimpse into the customs and lives of the people who lived here in the past. The mountains provided a breathtaking view, especially when we looked down from above. Our guide left enough time for everything, so we can remember this trip with many beautiful photos.

5.00A beautifully paced tour covering beaches, wadis, viewpoints and caves — never rushed, never messy. Everything felt natural and easy. The pick up was from the hotel with a very clean and comfortable car, water and light snacks. Our guide surprised us with fresh coconut water and delicious local bananas. Big thanks to our guide Mohammed Qahour - calm, knowledgeable, shared interesting facts and showed us places known only to locals. Bonus stop in Mirbat city, which was great. Highly recommend if you want East Salalah without the tourist chaos.
