We really enjoyed the trip with our guide, Abo Salim. He was friendly and helpful and tried to deliver the best service. The excursion was interesting but good to know that waterfalls doesn’t exist in this period of the year. In spite of this fact, we can just say positive things about organizer. They contacted us one day before with clear information and guide was exactly right on time when we met. Thank you once again!

I visited in the last week of August. The tour guide Salim was super friendly and he stopped at various picturesque places, even out of the planned route on our request. There were five people in our group. The whole tour was amazing.

First, the advantages. The guide (the same one we had for the city and cultural tour) took us to beautiful places such as Wadi Darbat and Samhaan. However, like the day before, he was more interested in talking about delicate and sensitive topics (especially prostitution and addiction) which he'd never raise with native Arabic speakers. Moreover, his driving was risky. I felt nervous while he was negotiating winding roads with the steering wheel in one hand and a cup of tea or his phone in the other. We didn't have an accident, thankfully. What brings this tour down to a 2 is his lack of knowledge of places to eat along the seafront. In Taqah, he insisted we ate from a kebab takeaway where the portions were huge even though we weren't especially hungry. He also tried to make us order one portion each, which was not what we wanted. On a side note, has the guide got shares in the companies that manage budget hotels in Salalah? He kept recommending cheap-and-cheerful accommodation in isolated areas. I resent being told I paid too much for the hotel I chose. This tour has potential. With a more discreet and knowledgeable guide, it would be value for money.
