What To Expect
Shanghai

Taste local dishes from the Shanghai Jiangnan area, as well as southern and northwest China & Sichuan. Explore just how different regional Chinese foods can be on this evening Shanghai food tour!
Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road)
Explore the neighborhood just north of the famous Nanjing Road. Known for its colonial history during the Republic of China, this area of Shanghai was home to some of the city's most famous locals and expats during the 1920s and 1930s.

Disappointing tour, not much shared during each stop

3.00We were disappointed with the tour. Living already in Asia, it was not suitable for us. Not much was explained during the tour apart the first stop which some quick explanations. We were expecting to learn more about the food and also by extension about Shanghai. But also expected more street food vibe. You are seated in restaurants each time. Which is not an issue per se, but again Shanghai offers so many amazing street food that can be overwhelming for visitors to know where to look. Having a guide to show and share about street food would have been great - which I believe is more the vibe of the breakfast one. We should have looked into more details when booking. But considering little guide sharing, the price is too high as Shanghai offers really cheap food.

5.00Had a lovely tour with Yanny. Went to 6 different restaurants with different cuisines and Yanna gave a lot of extra information about China and the regions the dishes are from. Would recommend this for everyone who is traveling to Shanghai for the first time.

5.00A great way to explore Chinese cuisine. We loved the trip through different regions and flavours. My partner was well accommodated with vegetarian food. Janne was a great guide and we appreciated her insight and tips for the rest of our trip.

I learned so much and tried some foods I’d never have dared on my own but the tour also suited the less adventurous eater in our family. Janne was exceptional ambassador and guide. Come hungry and pace yourself because there is so much to try!

5.00This was one of the best food tours I’ve ever experienced. Our tour guide, Li, was incredibly knowledgable about the food we were eating, and did a great job in making sure everyone on the trip was comfortable and having a good time. What I liked best about this tour was that while it was a Shanghai food tour, we still were able to try out cuisines from different regions of China. Whether you’re a solo traveler or with a large group, young or old, this is a food experience to remember for a lifetime!

5.00This was one of the best food tours I've ever done. Guide Li was a mine of information about the origins of the food - and we sampled an amazing range of cuisine from all around China. It really opened my eyes to a whole new experience of food!

5.00We had Janne as our tour guide and she was incredible. Our family of four loved this tour. The food was delicious and plentiful. We had six different stops and each stop included food from a different part of China. The tour also included some alcohol. Our only criticism was that my husband said he would have enjoyed a beer earlier in the tour, rather than at our last two stops when we were already so full. Everything else was perfect and I highly recommend this tour.
