If you want to spend some time on a beautiful pristine island paradise, the ferry to Egmont Key State Park from Fort De Soto is a great choice for the whole family! Get ready for a day of fun in the sun. Our ferry boat operates from the Fort De Soto Bay Pier daily in the spring and summer and nearly every day in the fall and winter. The ferry ride to the island is about 45-60 minutes and offers great chances to spot dolphins, sea turtles, and sometimes even manatees! We often spot sea birds on the ride to and from Egmont Key Island aboard the Hubbard’s Ferry, our big blue boat.
Once on the island (3hrs), Egmont Key offers great shelling, swimming, and opportunities for adventures. Including Fort Dade, a fort that dates back to the Spanish American war for to explore. Egmont Key is also home to a large population of endangered native gopher tortoise!
Snorkeling is sold separately on the day of the trip and not always guaranteed. Dependent on water quality, weather, predator fish.

Cap’n Robyn and her crew went above and beyond to deliver a good time. Beachcombing. History. Nature. Cap’n’s silky smooth narration was mesmerizing, chock full of fun facts. Sharks, birds, dolphins turtles were the order of the day. Shelling by the bagful was the plan for some. As for me, I snoozed on the beached pontoon, soaking up sun and the lapping waves, and the conversation of …

The boat ride to and from was fun and relaxing. The guides were great. We saw dolphins and rays, plus beautiful scenery. The island itself was really nice and had tons of cool history and beauty. We saw tons of tortises and found lots of shells. We packed sandwiches and drinks which worked out well for us.

Really great day taking the 11 am ferry to Egmont. Captain was so fun, played perfect island music & took us to see amazing dolphins near Skyway bridge on return trip! Island is small but very peaceful & good shelling.

My Egmont Island tour with Hubbard’s Marina was such a great experience. The tour guides were incredibly personable and relatable, sharing history about the area and keeping the energy high with music and great conversation. The ride was smooth, the island was beautiful, and the guides made everyone feel welcomed and taken care of. I’d definitely recommend this tour. 4 hours of relaxation, fun, and exploration. Well worth the cost!

Had an excellent day - goid shelling. Actually the best part was we left the key a little early and had a history lesson around the key from the boat and learned a lot we had not heard before when we went there. Worth the time and price!! Thanks, Zippy (Josh) and crew!

Wow, what an absolutely amazing day. The Egmont Key trip was literally the best excursion we’ve done, ever. The crew for our trip, Zip and first mate Robin, offered knowledge and suggestions for exploring the island, and it was obvious they are passionate about their work. The boat ride went by quickly with good music, dolphins showing off their baby, and instructions on what to expect when we arrived on Egmont Key. The water surrounding the island is Caribbean blue, and the beach is loaded with many treasures. Upon exploring the beach, the “ghost town”, lighthouse, and fort, we wished for more time. It’s an adventure and history lesson at the same time. It was a day we didn’t want to end, and we would have gone back a second time if our vacation wasn’t coming to a close. We will most definitely be back, and hope to bring friends next time. Thank you to Zip and Robin for a really great day!

The Englewood Shell club had an amazing excursion with Hubbard’s Marina to Egmont Key! Captain Zip and First Mate Kim were exceptional ~ informative, funny, and made the trip a smooth and enjoyable journey. Kim even created jewelry from some of the shells we found in the island during our return trip. What a fantastic experience for our club!! Highly recommend Hubbard’s Marina🐚🐚🐚

I recieved a gift certificate from my son for Xmas last year for Egmont key. We were waiting for the weather to get cooler. So that's the reason for the delay in the use of the g.c.. The whole experience was awesome. Captain Robin and 1st mate Sierra were just the best. Very informative and entertaining. What a wonderful day me and my husband had.If you love tortoises . You need to experience this outing. And the dolphins were awesome as well. Thank you......
