Discover on your own on an E-Fatbike the area where Vincent Van Gogh made a quarter of his works and experience for yourself the places he painted and sketched. In some places you literally 'walk' through the painting. You follow the route
This individual tour has been developed in collaboration with the Van Gogh Village museum (included) in Nuenen and you follow his footsteps in Eindhoven and Nuenen. Of course, the place where he made one of his most famous works 'The Potato Eaters' is not missing. You will also see the beautiful Van Gogh church opposite the place where he posted his letters to Theo.
You make this 35 km tour on a robust, urban and tough E-Fatbike. By using slow motion movements without applying force, you can reach a speed of up to 25 km per hour. Explore the area that Van Gogh loved so much using a web app as a guide. A driver's license and a helmet are not necessary, but some cycling experience is recommended.

The service was great and clear! Riding on the Fatbikes was also an amazing experience. Many great locations and descriptions on the website. However, the website design could have been clearer and more user friendly to provide a smoother experience for the user. Make sure to reserve an entire day for this experience.

It was a super fun City Tour through Eindhoven. In the beginning, it takes some getting used to cycling without resistance. We did not find the website with reference to the route map very useful to use. It might be better to make an app yourself or put the route on Komoot, for example. A really nice experience! Good service and the fat bike looked neat. Recommended!

What an awesome tour! Great bike lanes, and interesting sights to see. The museum tour brought it all to life.

If you are really tech savvy, and apps are more your thing than caps and baps, then you might like this. I didn't receive any info about how to get the app that you need for the tour, and eventually spoke to someone who basically made out that I had received the emails etc and it was all my fault. Eventually sorted the tech problem and rode the tour, which was ok. The first part, in the city was pretty useless to be honest, I couldn't find most of the things we were supposed to be looking for, and the tour sends you through a no-bicycle part of the city, where we were told off by police for riding! In a friendly way though. The cost was ridiculous. The bike hire place were really helpful by trying to sort out the tech part of the trip, but they're nothing to do with that side of things, they only supply the bikes. The bike hire could have been done for 9 euros a day but it cost us about 45 euros all in. I wouldn't recommend. Just do what we did on the subsequent days, hire a bike and make up your own route. Much less reliant on tech, and less stressful.

What a way to see some of the most beautiful country around Eindhoven!! This was a great self guided tour that was really easy to do via your phone. It was just amazing to put yourself in the same places as the great Van Gogh. While I’m not an arty kinda person, it made me appreciate Van Gogh’s work and have since researched him some more. Don’t let the 29km bike ride put you off, it’s flat all the way and very easy! Being a little unorganised I booked a day before but realising it was for the following week. I contacted Simone the organiser and she made it all happen for the following day! We did the tour with bike rental. The whole process was so easy. Both myself and my partner throughly enjoyed this tour and would recommend it!

Fun biking in such a bike friendly country. Paths are everywhere and well maintained. First Link to route sent in email didn’t work. Had to request the password. Restaurant at windmill wasn’t aware of our visit for included coffee and cake but they did honor the offer eventually.

The tour is self-guided using a web app and takes you to more than 30 different locations related to the life of Van Gogh in Eindhoven and Nuenen. At each site there is a commentary you can read on the web app and once you are ready to move on you can click for directions and are taken to a specially marked route on google maps. Some of the locations have landmarks still in existence ( such as watermills that feature on Van Gogh paintings and the houses were acquaintances), others are merely the place where something once stood. The stops vary in interest, but since you are going at your own pace, you can simply move on if you find a particular stop less interesting. The cycling is easy and very pleasant - pretty much all on cycle paths. The tour includes cake and coffee at a very pleasant cafe near one of the watermills. Near the watermill before that ( at Kollen) is also a great restaurant to stop for lunch ( not included) - It's called d'n kleine dommel. You can also get a version of the tour where cycle hire is included. We could not find this on Tripadvisor, nor actually on the website for the actual provider. - probable there, but not easily searchable. We ended up finding it on Get Your Guide. The tour could be dramatically improved with better commentary. The commentary is at times OK, at times disconnected, at times containing random details that are of little interest. You can always skim over the details, though organising things with a summary with links to extra details where you can click what you are interested in would be an improvement. The biggest improvement though would be to the quality of writing. The writing is dull and sometimes the English is very unnatural. With an updated commentary this would be an excellent tour for Van Gogh fans.
