Red Shanked Douc Langurs are endangered primates and almost found only in Vietnam. Son Tra is where these creatures call home

Having an opportunity to see a living creature right next to intinction is precious

What To Expect

Waddle into the fascinating world of our most endangered primates, off the beaten track and away from the tourist traps. In an easy, 3 hour-stroll, across twisting mountain road, scenic terrain, we will go into secret spaces that only the Red-Shanked Douc Langurs aka Rare Monkeys know. From encountering sprightly off-springs during breeding-season (March to July) to seeing the adults or alpha male, or just to enjoy the sight of monkeys being monkeys, you’ll learn how to tell a "she" from a "he", how to tell their age, and also participate in real-time research by helping to collect data about the monkey we encounter. We will meet a supporting cast of forest creatures; birds, colorful butterflies, plants, or sometimes mongoose. On the trail we travel, I'll find chances to have a conversation with local animal photographers. We can hear the insights and see their amazing photos from them for a better understand of the monkey . Not only we go finding rare animals but also have opportunity to see an amazing hidden sceneries of Monkey Mountain, secret beach, altogether will combine to make our trip full of surprises. Our journey ends where we start.

Very interesting and nice motorbike trip on the Son Tra Peninsula! We saw 3 groups of the beautiful red-shanked douc monkeys, easy to spot with the provided binoculars! My guide Huy was very nice and new a lot about the monkeys.

Great morning out, really excellent service. Picked up on time, saw a cute family & baby monkey and learned a lot about the area and the wildlife from our guides. Highly recommend. Tip: wear sunscreen!

This was an amazing tour and I’d highly recommend it to anyone!! Brandon was an excellent tour guide who had so many insights into the monkey, the environment and the city itself. This will easily be one of my favourite moments from my trip so far.

We loved the tour! The guides were Bao, Brendan, Leo, Alan and Cillan. They were all great and explained interesting facts about the monkeys and the forest. We also tried some delicious fruits. We were lucky and got to see a lot of monkeys. Would definitely recommend the activity.
