Your vehicle should be as light as possible and fueled up at the start of Tour. Leave any extra water cans and jerry can at home.

Please note German guides are limited and we do not have the capacity to give everyone a German guide, These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Please note we can not guarantee a German guide on every tour!!

What To Expect
After meeting in Swakopmund we drive to Walvisbay, where we meet 1/2 hour later our Walvisbay Guests. Then past the Salt Mine onto the beach, to the Dune belt at Sandwich harbor, where Sea meets Dune, and up the towering Dunes, for some really adrenaline creating moments and stunning views. Down many steep slip faces and up many tall dunes along a really exciting dune drive. You follow our guide with your car and are helped along in any situation by our guide. We guide on route help with driving techniques, communicating via Radio. Please insure your car is adequately insured and have car rental company permission to enter Sandwich. After the dune drive we go back to Walvisbay inflate tyres and back to your accommodation. Its an awesome experience. Please note the price here is for 1 Vehicle including 2 persons. All additional vehicles and persons are extra please note.: should your car rental company not allow their vehicle into Sandwich you can rent one from us. its an additional
Walvis Bay Esplanade
The tour really starts at the Walvis Bay Esplanade. Here we view the Flamingos and air down our tyres. We exchange experience and learn about each others vehicle. We then go past the Pink salt lakes of the Salt Mine onto the beach and to the towering Dunes. We do the same route as our Sandwich Harbor Dune drive.

5.00Stunning landscape and great tour guided by Winton today. We drove our own 4x4 and Winton was excellent at explaining how to drive on the sand dunes. It was exhilarating! We stopped to take pictures at several points and had a pleasant snack towards the end of the tour.

5.00We took the self-drive 4x4 - tour without prior experience of driving on sand. Dennis was a fantastic instructor. Our tour was together with the excursion for the participants that did not drive themselves. They were six in total, split on two cars with Dennis driving in front of us and Volker behind. We met at the Dolphins coffee shop where we spotted already some dolphins. The first stop was at the pink lakes followed by a spot to watch flamingos. Then the driving became increasingly challenging from beach driving to passing over large dunes. We were connected to Dennis over walkie-talkies who instructed us precisely how to drive in this environment and helped us out one time, we didn't reach the top of a dune. We had a delicious pic-nic break back down at the shore right when needed. After driving on the dunes the ride back felt calmer. We enjoyed the gorgeous landscape with its vegetation and spotted some springbok. The excursion would have been very beautiful and worthwhile on its own without self-driving. Our way we learnt a lot and it definitely became a day to remember. Thank you Dennis!

5.00We had such a great time on our Sandwich Harbour tour in Namibia! Everything was super well organized and right on time, which we really appreciated. Our driver, Denice, was the star of the day – such a skillful driver on the sand dunes (what an adventure!) and at the same time we always felt safe. He was also very helpful and shared so much knowledge about the area, wildlife, and local life, which made the trip even more special. We enjoyed every moment and learned a lot too. If you’re in Namibia, don’t miss this tour – it’s a perfect mix of fun, adventure, and stunning scenery. Highly recommend!

5.00Dennis and Volker, the Walvis Bay tour we did with you was one of the top 3 most sensational trips we ever made in our life (and we travel a lot)! We rented one of your jeeps (the V8 Toyota) and could self drive following you. Even my wife was super excited. Driving in the dunes was an amazing experience and it was so lovely to learn things from you. Frederic and Katia from Belgium

5.00This was a most exciting and fun half day experience. We rented a car from this company to do the tour, and Dennis led our small group (only one other car joined). He was experienced 4x4 driver and guide in this area and very knowledgable on the surrounding environment. With walkie talkies to connect us, he was very calm in talking through how to manage the various dunes we bashed! Driving by the sea and high into the dunes ourselves was an unforgettable experience. We had no issues at all - under Dennis’s expert tuition we managed all the highs and lows and saw some animals out there too. Unfortunately it was a misty and grey day but I think that’s unusual. Our lunch stop was a nicely prepared pack and we enjoyed a chat between us as a group. We were back in Walvis bay about 2. Highly recommended experience!

5.00Would highly recommend. This was an amazing experience. We rented a vehicle and my partner self-drove. We had two guides (Dennis and Volker) that were incredibly helpful and personable. They offered great tips and strategies for driving in the sand dunes. They readily answered questions and were so fun to hang out with during the day. We were part of a 3 vehicle convoy (6 other travelers were doing the tour, but in the vehicles as passengers). This tour included a stop at the Salt Mine, drive along the beach to Sandwich Harbour, drive up and down the dunes to various locations on our way back, and then finished up driving through a more vegetated area and saw a jackal. The highlights were driving along the beach and learning to drive in the dunes. There were many stops along the way which was nice for those that want to take pictures and get in/out of cars. We enjoyed the driving and adventuring portions best. Both my partner and I are vegan and we were easily accommodated for lunch. Make sure to check in the night before. They company tried to contact us to confirm out departure time, but we were staying in a place without reception. May be beneficial to be proactive and contact when you do have reception or let them know that contacting you the day before may be work out. It all worked out just fine for us and customer service was incredibly friendly in ensuring we had what we expected.

5.00On our 35th wedding day we went out with Winton as our guide and coach. A fantastic experience to be able to drive yourself through the dunes and over the beach. Winton showed us the most beautiful places and was a fantastic host. Winton certainly contributed to an unforgettable day.

5.00Magnificent Morning to Sandwich Harbour taking in Flamingos ,Pelicans and then along the coast on sand tracks to Sandwich Harbour. Dennis our guide was superb, great car control and once into the dunes showed good skill and fine anticipation dodging the Atlantic along the beach. The view of Sandwich Harbour the spit and the desert is not one to miss. Our stop for lunch was excellent with good food and convivial conversation. Really good , ask for Dennis a great host who loves what he does and skilful with the 4x4 …. Just do it with Dennis.

5.00Today we embarked on the 4x4 self drive tour to Sandwich Harbour. A great experience to drive yourself up and down the steep dunes and along the beach. Winton our guide lets you get the best experience based upon your personal skills driving through sand. A great guide that tells you everything about the area and its history. Beautiful scenery all around. To finish off a great lunch was served at a beautiful location. We had a great day thanks to Winton and ofcourse the beautiful scenery. Winton thank you again.
