  • Best Temple Tour Day in Ayutthaya

Solo female traveler from the USA. I was traveling through Bangkok but wanted to still get to explore and see all the temples there, which is impossible to do it all in one day so figured a tour was my best option. So glad I went. Joined a group with an English speaking guide. Our guide Jeerawat was amazing!! Very knowledgeable. It was great to see various temples in Ayutthaya and get a history lesson then a delicious lunch and more temples, walk around and see all the beautiful architecture and learn about the culture. It was nice to get picked up in a van with A/C, they offered water, occasionally they quicken the pace so we could use restrooms or sometimes slowed the pace down so we could stop and get coffees, stuck to a general schedule but was flexible given the weather and how hungry or hot we were. Got to see all the places and learned a lot, thanks again Jeerawat for answering all my questions and showing me the city! Best guide ever!

Went to Ayutthaya with Ann as the guide and it was a lovely trip. She was good at explaining the temples at the various sites while keeping it funny and engaging. We left from MBK Center around 8am and was back again around 5pm, as advertised. We even learned a little about Loy Krathong as an added bonus 😄

Pop is a very personable and knowledgeable guide, although sometimes I wasn't able to catch all the details due to his accent. He was more than happy to take good photos of us in front of the important statues or temples. He took us to a very nice restaurant on the river for a tasty and reasonably priced lunch. This tour of one palace and 4 temples was well worth the price. I would highly recommend it. The one thing I wish I'd known ahead of time is that for the palace I needed more than just to have my shoulders covered with the shawl that I brought. I needed sleeves, and so ended up having to buy a sleeved top from a vender nearby. Other than that, it was a great tour. Thanks Pop.

The temples were breathtaking, especially Wat Phra Si Sanphet and the reclining Buddha at Wat Yai Chaimongkul. I liked having the flexibility to stay longer where I wanted and not be tied to a group schedule. The driver was polite and patient, and the whole trip felt very easy. If you want comfort and freedom in one trip, this is perfect.

I really enjoyed this day trip! The mix of sites was amazing from the grandeur of Bang Pa-In Royal Palace to the peaceful riverside setting of Wat Chaiwatthanaram. The driver didn’t act as a guide but he made sure we got to each place comfortably and safely. Just remember to bring cash for entrance tickets and food. Overall, a very convenient and relaxing way to see Ayutthaya
