A beautiful visit to the natural spring of Blue Eye, a hidden place between the mountains where you can enjoy a magnificent view of transparent water, that still can't be measured how deep it is. Even during summer the temperature of the water remains always 8-12 C. You can enjoy a nice coffee surrounded just by nature, the sound of the water and the feeling of being in magical place.
On the way back to the city, a short visit to Lekursi Castle, build by Sultan Suleiman the Great. A 360o view of all the region around, where your eyes can enjoy a magnificent sight-seen of a big island ( Corfu), a city ( Saranda), a lake ( Butrinti Lake), high mountains, new and old constructions, churches and mosques, a river ( Bitrica River). All in one from the top of this strategic place.

The Blue Eye
The "Blue Eye" (Albanian: Syri i Kaltër) is a water spring and natural phenomenon occurring in the village of Muzinë in Finiq municipality, southern Albania.
Lekursi Castle (Kajala e Lëkurësit) is a castle on Lekursi Hill, just behind Saranda with an amazing view over the town and bay, making this the most popular and iconic viewpoint of Saranda. Inside the walls of Lekursi castle is a restaurant (Restorant Kalaja e Lekuresit) with an enormous outdoor terrace. Although it can be busy in summer, it is definitely a great spot for dinner or drinks, especially around sunset. Sometimes there is also traditional folk music and dance for a truly Albanian experience.

A wonderful experience visiting the Blue Eye and Lekursi Castle. Since it was off-season, we were a small group of only 4 people, which made the tour feel very relaxed and personal. We had plenty of time to enjoy each stop without crowds, take photos, and truly appreciate the beauty of the places. Everything felt calm and well-paced, and we enjoyed the experience a lot. Highly recommended!

Beautiful combination of history and nature. The Blue Eye was absolutely stunning and Lekursi was impressive. The guide made sure we had enough time at each location and shared interesting stories along the way. A very well-planned tour.

The Blue Eye is more than just a beautiful sight; it’s a hypnotic natural phenomenon. If you are traveling in Southern Albania (for example, between Sarandë and Gjirokastër), make sure this spectacular natural wonder is on your itinerary.

Perched atop the hills overlooking Saranda, Lekursi Castle offered one of the most spectacular views I’ve ever experienced. From up there, I could see the sparkling Ionian Sea, the city below, and the surrounding islands, all creating a breathtaking panorama that felt almost magical.
