National Museum of Qatar
Bringing to life the unique story of Qatar and its people. The iconic building, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, is based on the form of the desert rose and is composed of large interlocking disks of different diameters and curvatures that surround the restored historic Palace of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani (1880-1957), son of the founder of modern Qatar. The museum, which opened in March 2019, gives voice to the country’s heritage and culture through commissioned films and artworks, storytelling, artifacts, and music, combining wide-ranging scholarship with oral histories of the people of Qatar.

5.00An exciting tour of Doha with Kamil. The young man has his history side of the tour well figured out. We also had some tea at the old market which was cool. We appreciate the photos and negotiating some good prices for the things we had to buy. After this I really know Doha is a gem🤩
