What To Expect

1

Teotitlan del Valle

Teotitlán del Valle, in Oaxaca, is famous for the elaboration of handmade wool rugs using ancestral pedal loom techniques. What makes these rugs stand out is the use of natural pigments extracted from local plants, minerals and insects, such as cochineal, pomegranate and indigo, which gives them vibrant and long-lasting colors. This tradition, passed down through generations, reflects the rich Oaxacan culture and respect for the environment. Visiting the town is an excellent opportunity to learn about this artisanal process and purchase unique rugs made by the talented local weavers.

Hierve el Agua

We explore the petrified waterfalls of Hierve el Agua, where we will spend two hours and thirty minutes to first take a walk around and then refresh in the natural pools that store water with great mineral content. During the hike you will appreciate the different views of the set of waterfalls that exist in the place. You will also find small water springs that give life to the petrified formations. The most amazing part of the place is at the bottom, where you can appreciate the fall of the waterfall and from its base you will be able to capture the best pictures for your memories. When you come back from the hike you can refresh yourself in the pools area or just take the time to meditate and contemplate the beautiful landscape, which is surrounded by mountains that are a magnificent backdrop to the site.

Our tour guide Luis was not only an incredibly knowledgeable guy, but also a very warm and good hearted person. My husband and I enjoyed all the stops and learned a lot about Oaxaca in just one day! We highly recommend this whole day tour - especially with Luis as the guide and Israel as the driver.

Awesome tour with this company. It was so great that I took two separate tours with them. Pavel ( our tour guide) was great. It's impressive how much history he knows and it's evident that he loves what he does. Erick (our driver) made sure we got there safely and back to the center. The tour size made the experience feel intimate. I highly recommend this company when visiting Oaxaca. You won't regret booking with Zapotecos Tours!

Amazing tour!! The Lizeth Guide had too much data from all the places, it gave us references with pictures. Very good vibe would definitely see you book with her again. And with this agency 10/10
