Yuri was amazing. I wanted to see authentic ceramics so we took a long cab ride off the beaten path to a ceramics museum outside of the city. It is a great way to see the countryside. We had lunch at an amazing sushi place in the small town where the sushi master and his wife could not have been nicer. Then we returned to the city to see the gardens and castle. What an amazing day and Yuri’s English skill is terrific. This was one of the highlights of the two weeks I have been in Japan.

Yuri gave us a phenomenal look into the heart of Kanazawa. It’s rare to find a guide who is both a true local expert and so easy to talk to. She made sure the tour was perfectly suited to what we liked and was proactive with communication from the start. We especially loved that she took photos of us during the tour so we could just enjoy the food. Highly recommended!

I had a wonderful time on this tour. Yuri showed me many charming spots in Kanazawa that I would never have discovered on my own. It was really special to see the city from a local’s perspective. Her explanations were very clear and easy to understand, and the historical stories—especially about geisha culture—were fascinating. I learned so much about the history and traditions of Kanazawa. She was also very kind, and I really enjoyed talking with her. The time went by so quickly. She also showed me great photo spots and kindly took many beautiful pictures for me, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend Yuri to anyone visiting Kanazawa!

What a wonderful introduction to Kanazawa on a private tour with Yuri! She met us in our hotel lobby where we opted to walk to the sites and take advantage the brisk clear weather instead of catching the bus. It was much more enjoyable to have someone guide us through the Chaya districts while giving us background information than if we had simply wandered snot on our own, Yuri also gave us lay of the land in Omicho market and we shared an order of seasonal female snow crab. Lunch was an unexpected surprise as we got to enjoy local oden and sashimi at a little restaurant inside of a shop with a beautiful garden view that we would never have found in our own. Tori is truly a wonderful guide with a great introductory tour of Kanazawa.

I had an absolutely wonderful time exploring Kanazawa with Yuri. From the very beginning, she communicated carefully to customize the tour based on my interests, which made the experience feel truly personal and special. It felt less like a typical tour and more like spending the day with a knowledgeable local friend. Yuri shared fascinating stories about Kanazawa’s history, culture, and traditions while guiding me through both famous landmarks and hidden gems I would never have discovered on my own. Her passion for her hometown really shines through, and she created a perfect balance between sightseeing, learning, and simply enjoying the atmosphere of the city. She also introduced me to local food, answered every question with great insight, and helped me capture beautiful photos along the way. The pacing of the tour was excellent, making the half-day experience feel relaxed yet incredibly fulfilling. I highly recommend this tour — you’ll leave feeling connected to the city and wishing you had more time.
