What To Expect

Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary

You will get a 1-hour educational guided tour. We start by showing you the snakes found in our area, then we show you snakes found in other parts of South Africa and then snakes from around the world. The tour is catered for the snake lover as well as the snake phobic. After your tour you are welcome to stay for as long as you like, there are other animals/reptiles to see such as crocodiles, lizards, tortoises, goats, African Grey parrots and more. We have a small gift shop selling refreshments and there are nice picnic area's should you wish to bring a lunch. We also have a forest walk which takes you to a beautiful river set in an indigenous forest (suitable footwear advised for this).

We came here for my nieces 7th birthday and I honestly could not recommend highly enough! Our guide, McClean, was absolutely fabulous 👌 he was waiting to welcome us at the gate, greeted the birthday girl like she was a celebrity, and brought such incredible knowledge and energy to our entire visit, that made it all the more special. The facility is great, the animals are all so well cared for and the staff is so friendly and welcoming, not to mention incredibly knowledgeable! Thank you so much to McClean and the Lawnwood team for making a little girls 7th birthday one for the books!!

We stopped in on impulse on our way to Knysna and were so glad we did! Such beautiful creatures and clearly so well cared for. The staff are all so friendly and keen to pass on their knowledge.
