What To Expect
Al Khor
Also spelled Al Khawr means "sea on threesides" in Arabic. Older than Doha but far smaller in size. Al Khor is located an easy 50 kilometres to the north of Doha. It used to be the center of the pearling industry in Qatar but lost its importance after the introduction of cultured pearls. It now boasts a scenic harbour where you can find traditional fishing dhows, a corniche leading to mangrove colonies and a museum showcasing the fishing, pearling and dhow building industries.
Al Thakhira Beach
The mangroves colony is not only a major tourism product for Qatar but an important natural environmental resource for Qatar. It provides a natural habitat and a sanctuary for birds, fish and other animals as well as prevent coastal erosion.

5.00It was an amazing experience to explore different parts of Qatar and learn about its history and heritage. A big thank-you to Abdullah for being a wonderful guide and for explaining everything so clearly. We truly enjoyed our tour. 5.00Good experience on the tour with Noor. The tour brings you to many locations that are culturally and historically significant. These locations need to be accessed by car and won't be easy to go on your own. Highly recommended to join if you are in Qatar for a comfortable and fun tour.

5.00Abdullah picked me up at my hotel in the morning and explained history, sights etc from 10:00 to 5:00 we were on the road. It was historic sites, modern art to nature. It was exactly what I wanted to see here. Eat early and or pack some food. It was nice that he supplied some cold water. We did stop at a gas station if we wanted to pick up any more snacks.

5.00Absolutely amazing day tour! Noor was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and made this an extremely memorable adventure. A few extra niceties included local tea and perfectly timed bathroom breaks. It was obvious to us that he has a lot of experience.
