Aokigahara Forest
You will begin to refresh with forest fresh air and start hiking. You will be captivated by the plateau lava and unique shapes of trees. You may meet Japanese squirrels and deer and other animals in the forest. You can hear the chirping of birds such as woodpeckers and Japanese tits etc. In each season, you can see unique wild plants such as rare orchids, mushrooms, and evergreen plants, lichens and algae etc. There is something inseparable from Aokigahara Jukai. It's moss. When you enter the sea of trees, the first thing you see is the moss that covers the ground. The area of Aokigahara Jukai is about 30 square kilometers, if you use the Tokyo Dome as an example of its size, it is equivalent to 200 Tokyo Domes. The vast sea of trees is covered with moss. It's a paradise of moss. Rare mosses and lichens are also a must-see. Enter a mysterious cave. This cave is a lava cave and has ice all year round. During the Meiji era, this place was used as a refrigerator.

Toshi-san was an excellent guide and companion. It was only my wife and me on the booking, leaving me to think we'd meet up with others. It was only him and us. He taught us all about the forest, the cave, the vegetation (particularly mushrooms) and more. I wish he could take us all around Japan. He's friendly and knowledgeable. It was our best experience in the Mt. Fuji area. Thanks again, Toshi! Signed, Alan Karbelnig

A truly fantastic experience! Ended up being just my partner and I, and our guide Toshi was excellent. He took us on a magical trip through the stunningly beautiful forest and incredible ice caves, providing lots of interesting commentary on the local flora and fauna. Certainly one of the highlights of our trip and we would firmly recommend it!

Toshi provided us an excellent experience. We learned a lot about the forest and the cave. He was informative and took pictures of us. He also gave us restaurant recommendations and dropped us off at the restaurant instead of taking us back to our hotel I strongly recommend!

Toshi-san was a great guide and this ice cave was a super cool experience. He loves to share his stories and really gets to know the group. I loved that we had an intimate group of 5-7 people whereas the other cave groups had 12+. He stopped every little while in the forest to give us some nature facts and has a great sense of humour! If you’re looking for something fun and different to do, I would recommend this experience.

Today my family and I experienced something new. Toshisan guided us on a short hike through a beautiful cedar forest to a lava cave. The forest is striking. The basalt rocks are tough for roots to penetrate, so they grow horizontally along the ground. Each tree looks like it could walk. Toshisan is studying forestry, and we loved learning from him. The lava cave was truly special. I’ve never seen anything like it! My 11 year old daughter was tired and quiet at first, but she perked up as she got to experience “real life Minecraft” complete with the sturdy wooden ladder. Bring good shoes to climb over the rocks in the cave. The cave was chilly. Toshisan provided overalls for those who needed a warmer outfit. Thank you for sharing this place and your expertise with us!

The tour guide, Toshi, made this experience very enjoyable. He provided lots of interesting information and was entertaining. The walk thru the forest was beautiful and the wind caves were unique. The climb down into the cave was a little difficult so be prepared to wear good shoes. Definitely recommend doing with a guide. Lots of fun
