Remember, extreme caving means you will enter inaccessible parts of the cave, which cannot be done without proper gear and scrambling skills. You will be taught basic rope-handling techniques that will allow you to explore the cave safely. It’s a highly adventurous experience, but don't worry, our guides will watch over you every step of the way and make sure you’re comfortable.

Descending down the 50-metre underground gallery where you’ll get the chance to put your newly learned caving techniques to the test. Passing fantastic formations with calcite crystals and rare snail-shaped dripstones, you make your way deeper into the underground by scaling walls with ropes and dangling in the cave’s mysterious abyss. While traversing down the slippery formations, you will learn a lot about the cave and the wildlife that lives there.

What To Expect

A thrilling caving adventure in the secret underground world near Lake Bled. Explore one of the oldest and most remarkable caves in Slovenia by venturing the deepest parts of the cave, closed off to mainstream tourism. It’s a first-hand experience of cave climbing and descending by rope in small groups under the watchful eye of professional caving instructors. Located near Lake Bled, this amazing place invites visitors to discover a marvellous world under the surface of Slovenia’s picturesque Alpine region. Accompanied by two professional guides, you will embark on an hour-long walk along the north-western edge of the Jelovica Plateau through a wooded wilderness. This forested area is also called ‘the rainforest’, as forestry works are forbidden and nature reigns free. A fantastic combination of adrenaline and cave exploration, this tour presents you with a unique opportunity to witness the subterranean workings of nature up close and personal.

Today we went to the cave with Anže. Anže picked us up at Altitude activities and he had everything prepared. He even got an extra pair of shoes for in the cave for us both. The hike up to the hill was the hardest part but it was doable for us. In the cave we had an incredible rappel and after that a nice climb. Anže teaches you the techniques you need before entering the cave. After the rappel and the climb we had a tour through the cave with wonderful things to see. Anže is very professional and also has a very nice personality. We had the most amazing time and we absolutely recommend this activity!

Not your average tourist cave tour." This was the real deal — full-on crawling, rappelling, and exploring deep underground chambers. Our guide was a trained speleologist and passionate about the geology and history of the region. Slovenia Activities delivered an authentic, off-the-beaten-path adventure we’ll never forget. Wear old clothes and prepare to get muddy — in the best way!

This was an absolutely unforgettable experience! The cave was both challenging and breathtaking — truly one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. I always felt safe, thanks to our amazing guide Anže, who was incredibly kind and professional. I’m already looking forward to doing this again!

First off: the hike of approximately 1 hour to the cave can be quite intense. However, we train jiu jitsu daily which has quite some cardio, and for us it was very doable. The hike was fun and had a few very nice viewpoints. After the hike, our amazing guide Anže gave us a good training on how to use the caving/climbing gear to go down steep/vertical slopes and back up. After getting ready, which took about 45 mins, we went into the cave. The cave itself is very large, and had some really nice features of which Anže was very knowledgeable and was able to explain a lot of details. After walking through the cave for a while (15-30 mins?) we arrived at the best part: an abyss of 40m straight down. This was an amazing experience, which was thrilling yet felt very safe. Even my wife, who has fear of heights, enjoyed the experience. She was scared/frozen for a bit, but Anže calmed her down, after which she was able to go all the way to the bottom and enjoyed it a lot! After the descent into the abyss, we climbed back up via another path, and experienced some more amazing parts of the cave. About 3 hours into the trip (including hike and preparation) we exited the cave and hiked back down to our starting point. This took another 30 mins I think. All in all, around 4 hours total for our trip. The experience was really unique, felt safe, but still got the adrenaline pumping!! Both of us agree: 10/10 would do again!

They neglect to tell you the one hour hike is at a 40 degree angle and scramble up gravel on all fours. Guide said most people do not make it and many young people vomit less than quarter of the way up. Guide also had to stop to catch is breath. Oh yeah you have to carry twenty pound bag of gear. You then do the reverse coming back down. This was a VERY expensive lesson for us. Unless you are used to making intense Alpine hikes stay away. He kept all the money even though we were only with him a short time. He said it would be 6 hours and we were there for one. Before we started he said we would fail, this screams volumes

I went to the cave exploration with a friend and we both really loved it. This is a must do for everyone who loves caving and I can only recommend this to anyone who is in Bled. But be warned the hiking to the cave is really challening. Also take enough to drink and eat (+ some sugar).
