Starting from Mt. Esja parking lot, only a 25 minutes drive from Reykjavik city center. The tour takes 3 hours. Climbing Fálkaklettur is a great achievement you can be proud of, overcoming challenges.
Via ferrata (means iron path in Italian) originates in the European Alps but is now a popular sport all over the world. It is a protected climbing route with steel cables which the climber clips into using specialized climbing equipment.

5.00What an amazing experience. The whole adventure was so much fun from from start to finish. The tour started on time, was easy to find and after a thorough safety lesson we were off on our adventure. The views were incredible and the guide was informative, very helpful and friendly. Our family was in Iceland on vacation from the United States, and we are all at different fitness levels and the climb was accessible and doable for all of us, yet provided an exhilarating challenge. This is one excursion that you should not pass up and our whole group agreed it was one of the highlights of our trip. And an added bonus, the office had a friendly and adorable dog who came to say hello.

5.00This was an amazing experience. Haraldur was our tour guide and answered all questions we had and made this experience very comfortable!! I was terrified going into this and Haraldur made me so comfortable and thankful I went on this tour! The climb is doable for all ages and fitness levels. I would highly recommended doing this while visiting Iceland!

5.00My daughter and I went together and had such an amazing time! The team was super great and helpful and made this the best time ever. My daughter is 14 and loved it. A little scary at times for those who fear heights but we felt safe and secure the whole time. The bridge was amazing. I recommend this to everyone!

5.00The Falkaklettur Via Ferrata Adventure was an amazing experience! I highly recommend it to anyone with a sense of adventure! The route is fantastic because it’s varied, with both easier sections and more challenging ones. It was a bit harder than I expected, but that made it even better. Looking down, you realize just how much you’re capable of and how stunning the surrounding nature is. The Mt. Esja Hiking Center was really easy to find by rental car, and the drive from Reykjavik was straightforward—no 4x4 needed. There’s a spacious, free parking lot, and the entire hiking center is a beautiful, well-maintained place. My guide was the lovely, warm-hearted, and professional Thelma, who made the adventure unforgettable. Thank you!

5.00Amazing experience!!! Located just outside Reykjavik, this Via Ferrara was the best part of our Iceland vacation. It started with a short hike, followed by a moderate climb up the mountain then bridge crossing. The views at the top were worth it. Bjarnþóra and Erlendur were knowledgeable, passionate, and friendly hosts. Would highly recommend doing this if visiting the area. It took about 3 hours. Very reasonable priced.

5.00Such a beautiful experience. From the moment we entered the space , which was homey and cozy and had fresh cookies awaiting our arrival per Bjarnpora. We suited up and went over safety instructions from Haraldur who guided us through our second ever via Ferrata. I felt safe while adventurous. I wish more people could have this experience .
Reminded my never to say never - as I had stated never to cross this pass. Now I am looking forward to do it again.

5.00I went on this tour with my wife and we both highly recommend it! It was absolutely amazing — thrilling at times, but we never once felt unsafe. Haraldur is a true professional with decades of experience, and it really shows. He also took plenty of great photos of us and kindly shared them afterwards. The whole experience felt very personal and homely, with outstanding service from start to finish

5.00I can’t recommend the Via Ferrata at Fálkaklettur enough ! It’s a perfect mix of challenge and reward. The climb is fun and the scenery on top is stunning. Our guide Elli was wonderful, encouraging and knowledgeable. Overall a great experience and a unique activity that I highly recommend to anyone who’s up for a little adventure.

5.00We went on a Via Ferrata trip with Fálkaklettur and had an amazing time! None of us had tried this before, but the guides were extremely professional, patient, and encouraging. The whole experience took about three hours and was a perfect mix of challenge and fun. Some sections were quite technical, but with the guides’ help we all made it to the top and felt great about it. Highly recommend this adventure to anyone looking for something exciting and well-organized in Iceland!
