My husband and I love history and had high hopes for this experience. It did not disappoint. Our tour guide, Liam, was thoughtful and shared a vast knowledge of the history of Ireland as well as how this history related to other countries. Liam shared his personal experiences both past and present and illustrated the importance of strong community building. His passion for Irish history is exciting and he gave great book and trip recommendations too! We felt lucky to get the chance to talk with him.

We had taken a different tour to learn about the troubles in the morning, and after we were done, I was very confused. So happy we also booked Liam for the afternoon. The way he explained the struggles, comparing it to U.S. fight for independence, made it very easy to understand. I learned more in the first ten minutes than i did during the entire earlier tour. Fantastic knowledge, friendly, open to any questions. Could not have been better.

If you're looking to learn about the recent history of Belfast, I cannot recommend this experience enough. Liam was an incredibly kind and knowledgeable guide! He had great stories and a deep understanding of the history as he lived through the events he was discussing. He made us feel very comfortable asking any questions we may have had and provided sincere and thought-provoking responses. After our walk and discussions with Liam, my husband and I have a much better understanding of the city's recent history and how those living here are working together to make a better tomorrow.

Fascinating, incredibly knowledgeable and open minded chat/discussion. Not for the feint hearted. It's essential that tourists are reminded what a troubled city this was and this tour really drummed that in, but with a positive message throughout. Brilliant.

A big thanks to Joe who was our skillful and respectful ambassador through West Belfast. I knew the big picture about the Troubles in Ulster but I learned so much more of the personal and neighbourhood stories. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to know what happened in Northern Ireland in the past. I'm so impressed with anyone who has lived through those troubled times and has come out the other side healthy and happy. Perhaps not related to this specific tour, but I must say how impressed I am with all of Belfast. It has gone through a wondrous revitalization and is so very worthy of a visit. Well done Belfast

Really good tour from local with lots of knowledge. Difficult to cram so much history into a short period of time but Liam managed to do so brilliantly. A passionate and insightful guide.
