We had a really nice and fun morning at Lemon Basil. It was fun to see the little organic farming and learn more about their work. The cooking school was really well organized, all the ingredients were super fresh and mine was a super host and teacher. There are several cooking schools in Hoi An to choose from. Choose Lemon Basil for a small, authentic and heartwarming place♥️ My and Lemon Basil get our best recommendations!

This cooking class is a must do on your trip to Hoi An! Before starting our class, we had a tour of the lovely garden and got to participate in planting some spinach. Min, our chef, was absolutely adorable. She quickly made us feel right at home with her beautiful smile and warm personality. We cooked four different dishes which were all super tasty. We left very full and with great memories! This has been a highlight on our trip to Vietnam.

First, our guide Min took us to the local market where we bought all the ingredients for the cooking class. She explained us all the different vegetables fruits and herbs. After our arrival at the cookery her uncle und Min explained us all the steps for farming, where we could also take pictures and videos. A warm foot bath and massage followed. The menu chosen was great. Because we had asked about a local eggplant dish at the market, Min switched part of the fish dish to a delicious vegetarian eggplant dish. Papaya salad was my favourite, but also spring roles, and banh xeo were awesome. Personally I enjoyed the quizzes about the ingredients most, as we learned a lot about how the are used in different meals. Great guide with a lot of humour and knowledge.

Had a fantastic morning with Min going to the market and helping in the garden. What an interesting, brilliant and funny experience. The food we cooked was yummy and can’t wait to try at home. I would definitely recommend this as a must in Hoi An

I went as part of an Intrepid tour group and had a wonderful afternoon with Min and her helpers. Min first took us to a local market to buy fresh produce for our meal, then showed us around the farm next door to the restaurant where more of the fresh produce comes from. We had a fun foot and leg massage before cooking four simple and delicious dishes (spring rolls, salad, fish and pancakes) which we then consumed. All round, a wonderful experience with a sweet and charismatic host. Highly recommended!

With so many cooking classes to choose from in Hoi An, we couldn’t be happier with our choice! Not only was it a private class but it was also a family-owned business. There was a farm tour and great explanations of all the recipes. Everything was delicious too! Don’t miss this experience!

This is the second time we have done a cooking class at Tra Que Vegetable Village. After trying to work out which one to do decided to go to Lemon Basil after being recommended by my friend Vy from past class. It was a great day spent with Jessica and family learning new recipies and being back in the Vegetable Village. So peaceful. The foot massage is what is needed after all the walking we have been doing and great job done by ladies and man. We would highly recommend people to come to lemon basil to do a cooking classas it is done in small groups at various times of the day and very patient with my poor skills. It was as good as our first time

I had a fantastic afternoon at the vegetable village. The place was so beautiful and peaceful and they show you the traditional way of farming in the garden. Uyen was a fantastic guide and taught me a lot about life and culture in Vietnam, which was a great and memorable experience to me. After a visit to a local market, we cooked spring rolls, papaya salad, fish and rice pancakes together. One of my highlights was the bicycle ride through the local rice fields. Overall this was one of the most authentic experiences in Vietnam so far and I strongly recommend it. It is a great opportunity to escape the busy cities and get some fresh air in the beautiful and quiet vegetable and flower gardens.

We had a fun time planting some herbs in the garden, learning about the farm, and then enjoying a massage before cooking some delicious food. I really can't stress enough how Jessica's sense of humor and cleverness made our day really fun - she is a great host!
