Travelled with my 80 year old Mandarin speaking mother. I had requested for a Mandarin speaker if possible and had no expectations - we were most delighted with Hanna. Her conversational Mandarin was good enough for my mother to enjoy the morning of house farm visit, marketing, coffee and cooking and have a more than decent conversation, which was brilliant. Experience - excellent local experience to visit a farm with fresh vegetables produce. Then went to a wet market, introduced to some of the local fruits, had time for coffee (try the salted coffee with cream!) and returned to a home for the 4 dishes of cooking. Food - It was fun, we ate as we cooked and the dishes were most delicious. (Pho, pancake with rice rolls brinjal or aubergine in clay pot and papaya / mango salad). We love them all. Service - Hanna was sweet, most considerate in taking care of my elderly mum on a rainy day and her instructions were clear. We dropped by a supermarket and she helped us with a few purchases. If you are travelling with someone who speaks Mandarin , Hanna is the person to ask for. Her English is good of course. And she is most patient. Superb customer service. We had a most wonderful experience and would certainly recommend her and this company!

A fabulous day with our host Rosie taking us around town to see how things are grown, where to get things from the market before finally cooking some delicious meals!

My brother and I had a great time at cooking with Jolie. We started by learning about traditional farming, followed by a market visit and cooking. The instructors are very knowledgeable and make the class very fun. The selected menu is nice, represents typical dishes in the area which are very tasty and not hard to do later at home! Some fun competitions take place during the course, but I am not going to spoil you, just go and enjoy!

A thoroughly enjoyable cooking class! This cooking class with Jolie Villa included a trip to the nearby vegetable village, local market, coffee shop, and (of course!) the cooking and eating. It was a well planned morning from start to finish. Very professional, but also lots of fun. We made a variety of vegetarian dishes (they adapted recipes for us!), such as summer rolls, bánh xèo, pho and more. We loved preparing the food and playing games along the way. We learnt so much from Hanna, who led our morning. Kelly and Hanna were extremely knowledgable, chatty and lots of fun. We‘ve made memories for life, and recommend this class to everybody visiting Hoi An!

I usually join a food/cooking tour during my travels but few offer as tailored and comprehensive an offering as Jolie. Our group of 5 joined the Farming/Market/Coffee/Cooking tour which meant that on top of what could have been just an ordinary cooking class, we were able to actually visit a local farm where food is grown, trace that food to the active markets, and take a break and get to know the bigger group. All that meant that by the time we got around to cooking, there wasn't a trace of awkwardness and we were properly hungry! A few things that make Jolie's tours and classes stand out: - Overall pacing: we didn't feel rushed at all and if anything, Rosie, who was our guide for the day, accommodated the group's (many) requests for photos, videos, side trips, and questions. If you're on a tight schedule however, do let the team know as the pace is more relaxed (as it should be). - Cooking class format: rather than cook everything in one go, we broke down the menu in pieces, cooking and eating as we went along. Rosie was great at explaining the specific components while having each person take care of a different section so it didn't take too long before we ate. It made for a very educational but not overly formal experience. My only recommendation for future classes is to have the recipes printed out or accessible online. - Family atmosphere: everyone we met on the tour really felt like family and knew each other (Jolie and several relatives actually joined the class as well!). That's not easy and quite rare these days especially when Jolie offers multiple tour types across Da Nang and Hoi An! I can say the whole experience was legitimately fun and they effortlessly got the group comfortable with each other rather than feeling like a one-and-done cooking class. I'm sure this was the case for many others judging from all the photos on their wall as well. Would highly recommend one of Jolie's tours for the above regardless of what format you choose and 5/5 would go again if given the chance!

We met early in the morning at a local market and saw a cup of coffee, then came to a Vietnamese home and did a variety of cooking activities. Rosie was a cute, pretty friendly, funny and perfect host. I think it's one of the best things to do during a trip to Vietnam. Strawberry~!!

Wow!!! It was a really good experience. This has been one of the highlights of our trip!! Rosie was an incredible and a very kind girl. Going to the vegetable garden with her was a great experience as it gave a great insight into Vietnamese produce. She also gave some background into Vietnamese local life. She and her family are so lovely and welcoming. All the food was delicious. We left with very full stomaches and hearts. Would 100% recommend doing this tour if you are in Hoi An - it is a must do!
