Flores Island has a size of 14.125 square metres and the landscape is very mountainous. It is the biggest island in Nusa Tenggara. The length of the island is 380 kilometres and it is between 26 and 270 kilometres wide. By distance, it can be reached from the west to East within 24 hours. However, Flores is very Mountainous and located in volcanic zone make it interesting to be discovered. This 4 day-tour will allow you to visit and experience the highlight of Flores especially to whom love nature and culture and at the same time having sufficient time for holiday. As it is a private tour, we are open to your individual needs, request, and interest. Feel free to contact us. The tour can be started either from Labuan Bajo to Ende or Maumere depending much on your flight.

This morning you will be picked up by your guide and driver from your hotel in Labuan Bajo to begin the half-day’s drive to Dintor on the south coast of Flores. Halfway. You will reach Lembor, where you can choose to have lunch, or. Have it prepared ‘to go’.
From Lembor, you will continue on to Nangalili beach for a picnic by the sea. Then continue on, following the coast line (a slow and bumpy drive) to reach the small village of Dintor. There you sill spend the night in the Wae Rebo Lodge, set in the midst of a paddy field with views across the fields and the sea to Mules Island. Dinner tonight is at the lodge

Wae Rebo Village
Today you are able to visit the beautiful, remote village of Wae Rebo. You begin your adventure with a short drive up the bottom slopes of the mountain to the village of Denge, from where you hop on the back of a motorcycle for the 10-minute ride further up the mountain to post 1, the starting point for your 5 km hike up the mountain to Wae Rebo. You will be following a stone-laid path, and then a well-trodden forest path to reach the village, but be prepared for a tough uphill hike with sturdy hiking boots or walking shoes. Upon arrival at the lovely village of Wae Rebo, you will be welcomed by Wae Lu’u ritualthat requests permission, and provides blessings from the village ancestors. Your lunch is in the village. Your afternoon is then free for further exploring, visiting local homes, learning more about their customs and traditions, and just enjoying the beauty of this amazing location. Overnight will be in one of Wae Rebo’s cone-shaped traditional home, shared with other visitors.

If you wish rise early to catch the beautiful sunrise, and then after breakfast, head back down the mountain to the lodge where you leave your main bag, and take the opportunity for a chance to freshen-up, before continuing your journey with the drive to Ruteng. Along this 3 1⁄2 hour drive you will have a number of stops at interesting spots along the way, including a visit to the spider web rice fields at Cancar, and a delicious local lunch of "Se’I babi" (the popular East Nusa Tenggara dish of smoked pork).
Traditional Market Ruteng
A mountain city Ruteng is great city for stopover. As a home and center of Economic city of Manggarai, Ruteng is where all the farmers bring their crops for sale. Of course you will be able to see this when visit its traditional market which is open from 6 am to 7 pm. In here, you will have a look of any variety of tropical fruits, bulbs, herbs and spices, and a lot more including to witness locals who are busy going to shop in the market.

Start the morning with a short drive to a spectacular lookout over a sea of rice terraces stretching across the valleys and up the slopes of the mountains that surround Ruteng, and then continue on to drive to Rana Mese Lake.
Rana Mese
from Ruteng, you will drive for 30 minutes to Rana Mese lake for a short walk along the shoreline, and then through the lush rainforest to see a waterfall surrounded by rich jungle.
You will drive to Waelengga for lunch to a local delicious restaurant, Siquarra whose owner is very welcome to all guests visiting his resto.
Aimere
You will drive for 5 minutes from the restaurant to Aimere, a small town located in the south part of Bajawa where Arak wine is processed traditionally. As Flores is well known for its Arak, almost each regency has their typical Arak or in Flores called "Sopi". Aimere is one of the biggest center of distillation of Arak. In here, you will see how the process from beginning like juice to become Arak from small percentage of 15 % to 50%. Almost all the people in this area rely much on Arak as their main income because Arak in Flores is one of the biggest parts to be possessed when having small or big ceremony.
Belaraghi Village
Your next stop is Belaraghi traditional village which has stunning view of savannah on the way to this village. Belaraghi is located in a green and lush forest surrounded by local agriculture that will make a pleasant experience for you.

You will stay 2 nights in Bajawa to discover great nature and unique culture. You will start the tour with a trekking to the top of Avatar Hill, 12 km from your hotel. It takes you 30 minutes to walk to the top of the hill where you can see the amazing view of Mount Inerie surrounded by breathtaking view of cliffs that look like Avatar mountain in the movie The Last Airbender.
Bena Traditional Village
From Avatar Hill, you will then depart for the short drive to the village of the Bena, the oldest and biggest traditional village in all of Flores. In the village take some time to see the ancient building methods used here and to learn about the locals live their daily lives.
After Bena, you will drive few minutes to Heaven's Door Bar & Restaurant near to Bena for having lunch in a restaurant that has beautiful viewpoint on its back yard to see the panorama of the mount Inerie and villages coupled with the locals' agriculture.
Malanage Hot Springs
You noontime will be more relax by swimming in a natural hot river in Malanage which has nice setup in the middle of the lush bamboo forest, 30 minute drive from your lunch place. You will drive back to hotel for dinner and overnight

Ogi Waterfall
In the morning after breakfast at the hotel, before leaving for Moni for 6 hours drive, you will make a short drive to Ogi waterfall to enjoy morning view from this incredible high waterfall with an easy walk through the rice paddy and vegetable garden to the waterdrops.
Blue Stone Beach
From Ogi, you will be back to trans Flores or the highway to continue on to drive to Moni with a stop at Blue Stone Beach in Nagepanda to enjoy the view of the south sea with its unique blue stones added with the taste of fresh seafood culinary from the local restaurant.
From Nagepanda, you will continue on to drive to Detusoko to enjoy the rice field view from local café while enjoying coffee. your journey to Moni will be 30 minutes left.

Mount Kelimutu
Your adventure continues with an early 4 am start today for the short drive to the base of Kelimatu, from where you have a 30-minute hike to the mountain peak (1600 m). From the peak yu can then watch the sun rise over the coloured lakes, a memory that will last a life time. Then head back to your hotel for a shower and breakfast, before continuing on for the last leg of your journey to reach Ende.
After breakfast at hotel, you will have 1 and half hours drive to Ende for your flight to Bali on the following day. You will stop to enjoy the view or swim at Murundao waterfall which sets in the middle of the lush forest dominated by big banyan tree.
Wologai Traditional Village
From Murundao, You will have 30 minute drive to Wologai traditional village where you will find a 800 yearl old village belongs to clan Lio, one of the biggest clan in Ende. You will be accompanied by local guide to explain in details about the village and traditional life they still preserve.
Ende
From Wologai, you will drive to Ende where you will have lunch and in the afternoon, you will visit a house that later became a museum where first Indonesian President Soekarno was exiled for 4 year (1834-1938). His exile in Ende made a very historical moves that he also made a concept of Pancasila, Indonesian 5 fundamental principles. Your noontime in Ende is free at the hotel

5.00We spent a fabulous week with Irwan and Mister Driver ^^ A hyper personalized program according to wishes. Travelling with an 8 year old we were even able to visit a school and talk with the children and teachers. Irwan is passionate about his island and has made us discover a lot about Flores culture and traditions. The excursions are very well organized. Many thanks again to Irwan and his whole team. We felt like family throughout this stay. And the little present at the end of the stay touched us a lot!

5.00Our 4-night stay with Irwan and Ernesta was very pleasant! They are very welcoming, warm, and friendly. They love sharing the different aspects of their daily lives. These delicious meals we share together are just conducive to even more exchanges! We were able to learn many things and came out of it very enriched! It was the best experience of our month-long road trip in Indonesia! We will remember it for a long time. We highly recommend it!

5.00While planning my trip to Indonesia I knew already I wanted to see more of Flores. At first I was looking for a shared tour as I was solo traveling. As there were no options available I decided to search for a private guide. Irwan was promptly responding to my request via WhatsApp and was very communicative and informative to every question I had. It was an easy decision for me to do my trip with Irwan as time and place were fitting perfectly and I instantly had the feeling Irwan is there to show me the island in its full beauty. For him it was important to make everything possible for me, and he took care of everything without me worrying about anything. The time I had on the island with it's nature was amazing, especially Kelimutu was so worth it. What I will always have in my memories are the welcoming people, the untouched nature and the best guide i could have wished for, his amazing family i was able to meet for a coffee and not forgetting to mention our amazing driver Mus! Thanks again, I will for sure come back one day!

5.00We (Martine and Paul) had a wonderful trip with our guide Erlando and our driver Mus. We drove from Labuan Bajo to Ruteng (and back) where we stayed for 3 nights. Erlando's information was very interesting and we learned a lot from him about Flores and its inhabitants. Mus is an excellent driver. And together they were a great team to go out with. During our trip we had some health problems and Erlando and Mus did everything they could to support us. Their hometown is Ruteng and they showed us the most beautiful places there. We were very impressed with the spider web rice fields. But the waterfall and cave where Flores man was discovered were also highlights. We even had the chance to meet their families and were able to attend Erlando's niece's wedding. Things we will never forget. The trip was very well organized and the hotels we stayed in were excellent. We definitely recommend booking with Flores Traveler if you want to get to know Flores better and have an unforgettable and interesting trip.

5.00Recently my 24 year old daughter and I returned from a wonderful experience on a 7 day ‘Flores Overland’ trip with Flores Traveler. I had found this small company online, so of course had some concerns as to their legitimacy, and to the quality of the services that they were able to provide – and was more than pleasantly surprised right from the start of the whole process! To begin, they were highly responsive to all my questions – responding very promptly with complete answers to every question that I could come up with. The payment process was relatively simple, accomplished with a wire transfer to their bank account in advance of the trip – although that would be a bit easier if they were set up so as to allow for payments by credit card. And then, in Flores, they showed up right on time on day 1, just as promised, and we were off. From that point on, travelling with our guide Irwan, and the fabulous Mr Mus as the driver of our spacious and comfortable vehicle, we started heading east from Labuan Bajo, and the whole week was a total joy. Beautiful scenery ranging from the terraced slopes of dramatic volcanos to deserted coastal beaches, with lots of stops to explore small towns and markets, waterfalls and panoramic viewpoints – as well as lots of time for walks (and the rigorous hike to beautiful Wae Rebo), and visits to local indigenous villages and volcanic lakes. And while some of the roads were less than ideal, accommodations were definitely better than expected, and throughout, all accompanied by Irwan and Mus, who were not only flexible, informative, supportive and caring, but also open and fun, and always in good spirits, making us feel that we were almost all together on a family holiday! The highlights are definitely the tour to Kelimutu, the Blue Stone beach, Bena Village and the ricefields in Ruteng! 5.00We are a family of 5 people and during the month of August 2023 we toured the island of Flores and the Komodo National Park with Avelino. The trip was 8 days, of which for 5 days we toured Flores and the remaining 3 days we navigated the Komodo National Park. It was a magnificent experience and, without a doubt, the islands we liked the most in Indonesia (we also visited Sulawesi and Bali). Flores is a very virgin island and very pleasant to visit. Above all, I want to highlight the exquisite treatment of Irwan (the agency manager) and the kindness, cordiality and professionalism of Avelino, our guide during the 8 days of travel. 5.00Had a great 5 day tour from Moni to Labuan Bajo and then a day boat trip where we visited Komodo and snorkelled. This was all organised by Irwan with Yani as our guide and Bookit our driver. Lots of fun - I’d thoroughly recommend Flores Traveler and the island / thank you guys for sharing your wealth of knowledge and island.

5.00We made a wonderful trip between Labuan Bajo and Maumere (8 days) with Irwan and Tony (family of 4). We are usually reluctant to use guided tours but the passion of Irwan, his incredible knowledge of the people met in small villages and his kindness made the experience excellent. He has found the perfect level of presence and care but still leaving freedom and autonomy to his guests. We also always felt safe in the car driven by Tony. During the week, we have crossed several people doing the same trip with different companies and they were not as satisfied as we were: we highly recomment Flores Traveler !
