What To Expect

Our Guide will meet you near Circular Quay and drive you to the Sydney reserve where the bat colony resides. You will learn all about the endemic fruit bat, its importance (also know as flying foxes) and explain why they are endangered, sharing some interesting facts. Whilst you get to meet these Ozzie critters at eye-level, you'll also have the opportunity to use our high-zoom cameras and capture the smallest detail.

This excursion was absolutely incredible! Seeing hundreds of flying foxes up close—hanging, soaring, and filling the sky—was an unforgettable sight. Our guide, Dave, was fantastic. He came prepared with cameras and binoculars for everyone to use and even captured stunning professional photos of the bats, which he generously shared with us afterward. It’s hard to put into words just how amazing this tour was. If you’re in Sydney, don’t miss it—you won’t be disappointed!

Fun experience to see a colony of flying foxes. You get to seen them very close and the guide also provided binoculars and camera as well as providing photos taken with a telephoto lens. Great trip that is close to Sydney and well worth seeing.

We were hosted by Dave and had a “one on one” experience that was amazing. Another incredible host here in our trip to Australia. We were picked up at our hotel and he drove us to an incredible little reserve to meet the “Flying Fox” Dave is very knowledgeable and helped us with some incredible pictures. Great experience overall.

The tour was really great! We saw so many flying foxes, it was very impressive. Dave made a real effort and truly lives for animals. You can immediately tell that he genuinely enjoys it. Snacks and drinks were available on the bus, and Dave even brought binoculars and cameras for us. It couldn’t have been better! My friends and I had a lot of fun and would recommend the tour to anyone.

Such a cool experience! Our guide Dave was friendly and knowledgeable. He provided high quality cameras for us to take our own pictures with which was wonderful. Seeing these amazing bats in such great numbers during the day was incredible. Highly recommend!

The bat tour was really successful. We saw the bats really close and got some good photos. In addition to the bats, we also saw some interesting birds. Dave was an excellent guide and had a lot of humor. All the arrangements worked well. It's nice that Dave brings Australian snacks with him on the tour and also has Wi-Fi in the car. Definitely a tour worth experiencing and excellent value for money. I recommend it!

After doing the wombat tour we were really excited to do another trip. Dave is super friendly, knowledgable and has a passion for wildlife which made the tour even more enjoyable. He provided binoculars, professional cameras for us to take our own pictures and sent us lots of incredible photos of the flying foxes after the tour too which made it really special.

This was our second outing with Dave and it was just as great as our first (Wombat and Kangaroo tour). Dave is a great guide - passionate and knowledgeable about the wildlife and also takes fantastic photos (of the animals and his guests)! Cannot recommend this and his other tours enough!

Dave is a great guide, and this was my second trip with him. We went to a wonderful spot to view the bats and I took lots of great photos! The nesting ibises were also a nice bonus. :)
