Take in some of the most picturesque shoreline on the west coast of Barbados as we set off from Surfside beach and head to Folkstone Marine Park. Here you will experience a 360° view both above and below the surface as we paddle over colourful coral reefs located in the calm, clear waters of this protected marine reserve.
We will then journey to a lesser know shipwreck located close to shore which is home to many tropical fish, before making our way back to shore for a complimentary rum punch on the beach.

Having previously enjoyed previous kayak trips in the UK and the Med we were excited to enjoy a similar experience in Barbados, we were however left disappointed and out of pocket. We had specifically chosen this experience from Folkestone Bay because of the conservation area status and were looking forward to seeing some of what called the Carribbean sea home. Our reservation was booked for 2.00pm with an expected duration of 1.30 hours (approximate). By 2.45pm we were back on the beach heading back to our sunbeds. Our fellow kayakers were a party of young girls from New York who were clearly only interested in the social media "likes" the experience would generate. One even drawled "do we really have to wear a life jacket?" No doubt concerned about spoiling the aesthetic and covering her ridiculously micro bikini top. The first 15 mins of the experience, Nicky the leader, spent getting the girls into their kayaks, whilst we sat in ours raring to go. When we were given the go ahead to start paddling we headed off in the direction pointed out, only for us to be soon called back by Nicky, who was at this point towing one of the other kayaks, as the occupants couldn't paddle. We never reached the supposed destination and spent what remained of the trip close to shore. Nicky said he spotted a turtle, though we did not, all we saw were a few little fish through the kayak bottom. And then we were directed back to beach, with no word of the rum punch we later noticed mentioned in the reservation wording and no sincere words of thanks or farewell from Nicky. For an experience that held such promise we left feeling deflated and angry. We later spoke with another couple who had the previous week done a similar tour with Nicky from Carlisle Bay, they too felt disappointed with their experience. One to be avoided, particularly if you've already enjoyed previous kayaking excursions - you'll be disappointed!!!

The location has shifted from the one that we originally booked, and it’s now in Carlisle Bay - where there are sunken vessels, but also motorised craft, snorkel groups, and a busy vibe, so possibly not the range of sea life that the marine park might have offered. Nicki contacted us the night before and told us all that we needed to know, so he was very organised. We arrived early intending to spend some time on the beach, but in no time at all he’d kitted us out and got us out on the water for us to cause chaos with paddles. We were offered the use of a dry bag ( bigger and drier than the one we’d taken) and given water - which we hadn’t thought to bring with us - and then we were guided around the bay to spots of interest. Fish and turtles came up when temped with a little food. It was a good trip. I’d recommend it. The rum punch at the end was an absolute bonus!

Booked online direct and received an email confirmation of our booking. Then got an email 90 minutes before the tour was due to start to say it was cancelled. No phonecall even when it was such short notice and no attempt to help us find an alternative kayak rental. A day spoiled and our kids were very disappointed.

The experience was canceled before we had left for the meeting point. Trip Advisor and Viatour refunded our tour in full. We rented a Clear Kayak and went out on our own, so the day was not a disappointment.

Guide didn’t show up, no communication, no refund. I emailed both the guide and tour operator and not had a response

I recently went on a clear kayak tour in Barbados led by Nikki, and it was fantastic. Nikki's calm demeanor and wealth of information made the experience both relaxing and educational. He was able to cater to everyone's skill level, ensuring that both experienced kayakers and beginners like my friend and I felt comfortable and engaged. I highly recommend Nikki for anyone looking to explore Barbados's beautiful waters!

Nicky was a great instructor and although kayaking isn’t very easy he’s very patient and lets you try to get the hang of it

The website was not accurate. We booked the tour and then received a call from the vendor who said there were not slots available.

Great experience. Lots to see out on the water from a different perspective than snorkelling. Definitely worth doing.

The tour itself was ok, we saw sea turtles and fishes near the ship wreck, however, the experience wasn't quite as expected, we booked the coral reef tour because we did the snorkeling the day before and wanted to see something different, but the tour guide rescheduled our tour to the Carlisle Bay the day after because of the wind, but we actually didn't feel the weather is much better the next day, so now we are basically seeing the same thing as the snorkeling tour before. Also our tour was just 1h, less than described of 1.5h, and we didn't really get the rum punch described in the intro, I understand it's hot weather to host such tour but still it's a bit disappointing.
