5.00We were in port for a day and did a walking tour of the area through the ship but wanted to experience the foods of the region. Jan was an amazing guide and so passionate about the region and the food. We tasted carpaccio of the sea, a variety of olive oils, meets and wine. This was followed by 2 fish fishes, grappo and gelato. To say we were stuffed was an understatement. For anyone who is in the fence don’t think twice about it. We had the BEST afternoon!

5.00What a lovely trip. We met Jan in the main square in Piran and got much more than we expected. We suggest that you don’t eat before going on this trip! We spent about 3.5 hours walking round Piran and tried multiple places where we were given different foods and drinks. Each were great in their own way and it was hard to decide where we might want to go back for a meal that evening. Jan was an interesting and engaging host and the products he has collated from different local producers and which he sells from the Taste of Piran store just off the square were great. We would recommend a visit to the store even if you can’t do the trip. Thoroughly recommended. We all enjoyed it.

5.00Perfect for enjoying local cuisine in a group setting! Jan did everything to explain to us not only details on dishes and foods, but also included little facts about Piran itself. As a solo traveler I was nervous partaking in a group activity, but Jan is so cheerful and wonderful it is like hanging out with a friend! It helped make the experience more relaxing for everyone involved. Thank you Jan for giving us a literal taste of Piran. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh!

5.00Wow, do not go to Piran and miss out on this experience. Our host Jan was amazing, gave us great commentary on the history and highlights of Piran during this walking tour. We stopped at some great restaurants and experienced wonderful local food and great wine. The highlight being a beautiful little gourmet outlet called The Taste of Piran. Definitely include this tour in your trip. Fantastic experience.

5.00Jan's food tour through Piran was the perfect thing to end our stay in Slovenia! Jan is so friendly and chatty, and has a deep knowledge of Piran (and Slovenia in general!), it's historical influences, and it's local delicacies. Each stop we made featured a couple of thoughtfully selected dishes that were not only fresh and immensely tasty, but also sourced locally and prepared by experienced and innovative chefs. The tour also included a stop at a traditional salt shop, several places of historical interest around the city, and a shop selling locally produced wines, olive oils, and truffle products. All in all, the food, wines, and other tasty bits and pieces were excellent, and Jan was the perfect guide, thank you Jan!

5.00This is a must if you are visiting Piran. Jan is a great local guide and he focuses on showing you the best local food and wine. Each dish is amazing, fresh and unique. The tour also includes local wines and olive oils which are very tasty and make great gifts. Jan keeps the group size small and ensures that everyone feels welcome. Don't miss it!

5.00A great start to the first day in Piran! The friendly and very knowledgeable guide Jan took us on a fantastic 3-hour food tour through the old town. He told us a lot about the country and its people and the city of Piran. In between there were 8 stops in a variety of very different restaurants, an ice cream parlor and a great local shop. Everything was perfect: the food and wine were delicious and we now know where we want to stop for the rest of our vacation! Highly recommended! 🤩😎
