Arrive in Ha Giang city, check in at the hostel and get your bed dorm to rest. 08:00: Breakfast at the hostel. 09:00: Meet your local guide and start the Ha Giang loop.
Bac Sum Pass
09:30: Start your journey along Bac Sum Pass - the first mountain pass you'll encounter on the iconic Ha Giang Loop, admiring the breathtaking scenery.
Yen Minh
11:30: Continue your journey through Can Ty Pass, another breathtaking location. Here, you will drive through winding mountain roads surrounded by towering limestone cliffs

13:30: Checkin at Tham Ma Pass, an iconic snake-shaped mountain pass located at an elevation of 1500 meters, and features a route that zigzags very sharply

14:30: Explore the Hmong King’s Palace - a historic relic reflecting Chinese–French–H’mong architecture

9:00 AM – Dong Van Old Town: Begin your morning in the heart of the ancient quarter, where traditional H’mong houses and quiet stone alleys set a nostalgic tone.
Ma Pi Leng Pass
9:30 AM – Ma Pi Leng Pass: Drive along Vietnam’s most iconic pass, where towering cliffs plunge into deep valleys. You’ll stop at several viewpoints to take in the sweeping panorama of mountains and winding rivers.
Nho Que River
10:00 AM: Nho Que River Viewpoint: From this viewpoint, you’ll look down onto the emerald ribbon of the Nho Que River as it winds through towering cliffs. It’s one of the most iconic sights in Ha Giang, offering a perfect overview before you head closer to the river. 11:00 AM – Boat Trip on Nho Que River: Enjoy a peaceful boat ride as you glide between dramatic cliffs and crystal-clear waters—one of the most memorable experiences on the loop.

3:00 PM – M Pass Viewpoint & Lung Ho Viewpoint: These quiet viewpoints offer a final look at the rugged mountain landscapes before descending into the softer valleys near Du Gia.
Du Gia
5:30 PM – Homestay in Du Gia Village (Dinner at 7:00 PM): Settle into a tranquil Tày village, known for its stilt houses, rice fields, and relaxed rural charm.
DAY 3: Du Gia – Duong Thuong – Ha Giang City

10:40 AM – Duong Thuong Viewpoint: A remote viewpoint offering panoramic views of terraced valleys and quiet mountain villages.
Ha Giang
2:00 PM – Return to Ha Giang City: Enjoy the final stretch of the loop as the landscapes soften into rolling hills. Arrive in Ha Giang City at 3:30 PM, where the tour officially concludes. – Board your bus back to Hanoi or your next destination.

5.00It is an awaken trip through some beautiful landscapes. Most the Stopps are about the views as well and they all hit the spot perfectly. The hostels are awesome as well I booked with dorms, but I was not sleeping in dorms I had private rooms. The breakfast was not super interesting, but lunch and dinner were always really tasty. The food gets served a the table and everyone in the group grabs what they want. Talking about the groups, it feels really like one unit, I was in a group of 8 and I would not complain about a single one. The evenings and nichts we spent with the hole group it is like 30 people, of with most are really nice as well. Sun was my tour guide, if you get him you are lucky he is a real blessing. Oh and finally bring something soft to sit on, my ass is really sore.

5.00Big Mouse took care of this momma who brought her 3 teenagers and good friend to Vietnam for the first time. Dai was very easy to talk to, understanding and fun to talk to at the same time. After a first day of uneasiness and doubt, the rest of the trip was flawless and so much fun. Thank you to my driver, Quy, for taking an easy on my aging body and making as comfortable as possible. I can’t believe I did this being over 50 in the freezing cold and rain. We had a blast and if I can do it, you can too. Trip of a lifetime for sure.
