The Major War Criminals Trial was held before the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg from November 20, 1945 to October 1, 1946. As a result of this trial, Courtroom 600 of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice gained worldwide notoriety. From 1946 to 1949, 12 "Subsequent Trials" were held in the same courtroom before exclusively U. S. American military tribunals. .
Still to this day, in the southeast corner of Nuremberg, the remains of structures located on the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds impress visitors with their immense proportions and stand as vivid testimony to the megalomania of the National Socialist regime. This area of 4 square miles was intended to be an impressive backdrop for the Nazi party rallies and serve to demonstrate their power not only to Germany, but to the entire world.

3.00Guide spoke too quickly. I didn’t understand half of what he said and I was seated in the front passenger seat next to him. Also, a lot of what he spoke about was irrelevant to the nature of the tour. I was disappointed. Too much money for very little information.

2.00I would not recommend this tour. We were a small group of 8 in a very small van and our guide both inside and outside the van shouted the tour information as if we were in a high impact aerobics class. His information was very service level and several times incorrect. We stood in several parking lots in very cold weather for extended periods of time while he explained what the space once was. It was interesting to be there but there was nothing to actually see so the timing of standing for 30 minutes in a parking lot seemed unnecessary. The final stop, courtroom 600 and the museum was very interesting but we were only allotted 30 minutes in this space. You could get through perhaps 1/3 of the museum in that time. We could have spent less time in parking lots and more in the museum for a far better experience.

5.00The tour operator really gave us a lot of historical information about Nuremberg. I watch the history channel. However, I learned more with this tour. The German people are really nice good people. It is hard to believe that Hitler could achieve power in Germany. If it could happen with such nice people, it could happen anywhere.

1.00We were very disappointed by this excursion. The guide did not pick us up from our hotel as planned, although it was clearly agreed in advance. We had to take a taxi at our expense to reach another meeting point, without any help or compensation. In addition, we were confirmed that a French audio guide would be available throughout the tour, but this was not the case, which made the experience much less rewarding than expected. Overall, the failure to honour the commitments announced has left us with a very negative impression. It’s a shame, because the excursion itself could have been interesting.

5.00Our guide Rob was great! High energy, great story teller. The tour is a small group in a van with the guide providing history during the drive nonstop. When you arrive at stops, realize that most of the sites are gone and turned into car parks so as NOT to celebrate what was done by Hitler and the Nazi’s. Yet Rob brought a ton of insight into what can be seen while standing on the sight as to what occurred there in the days of old. In addition, Rob made fascinating connections to Brands, companies and private citizens that were caught up in the history of the Nazi regime. The Nuremberg trials courtroom 600 building was a great quick audio tour self guided tour well worth the time.
