Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers are two of New Zealand largest glaciers. From above you can view and appreciate the incredible natural phenomenon, towering ice formations and vast size of the glaciers. Top it off with a snow landing and standing on the ancient ice of the glaciers. You’ll also fly over the Tasman Glacier on the eastern side of the Southern Alps and close to Mount Cook/Aoraki, New Zealand’s highest peak.

1.00We booked the twin glacier trip but turned up at 7:30am to find out that we were not actually on that trip. The whole point of the ride was the see franz Joseph but instead we got taken to fox glacier and mount cook. The weather was blamed however no one else that was there had booked the franz Joseph route so clearly was not the real reason.

5.00Absolutely amazing trip! Very grateful to the lady at the desk (Tiana? She had light purple hair) for getting us on a last minute flight yesterday, November 25th. We were sure that our heli hike that was booked for this morning with a different company would be cancelled due to the weather (which it was), so we just wanted to go on any flight we could and she went above and beyond to help us get on one within an hour of us arriving to town. Our flight was wonderful and our pilot was great, as was the crew that loaded us onto the helicopter. So thankful we were able to have this experience

5.00Excellent experience with The Helicopter Line. We had prebooked a trip to Fox Glacier. As it turned out, the weather was not promising, but they were very flexible rebooking a couple of times, before we finally managed to get on to the flight. Check-in was smooth and flight safety was observed at all times (also with regards to the weather). We landed on Fox Glacier, where you really can appreciate the scale and dimensions of the glacier. As it turned out, we were on a flight that was making a fly by of the Franz Josef Glacier as well, so we were lucky to get a bonus! The cloud base was surrounding the top of the mountains, but pilot Simon made an excellent job finding the holes between the clouds. Also a good commentary en route. Highly recommendable!
