Ron was an incredible tour guide. Knew so much about the area and was genuinely just fun to hang out with. Even pulled over on the side of the road to check out some monkeys because he knew we were excited to see animals on our trip! The one caveat I will say is it’s essential you check in on how long the total travel time will be for the excursion. We were picked up in Tamarindo at 8:30am and didn’t get back until 7:20pm. Almost 11 hours!! Nonetheless, the attractions were wonderful but the overall experience would have been far better if knew how long the drive would be

It was a great experience. Mainor, our driver and guide was very helpful and passionate about wildlife. He even have to rescue a turtle crossing the highway to my boys amazement . Finding sloths in the rain forest was one for the books for sure . Seeing them in their natural habitat is a different feeling .

This was two tours in one. The coffee and chocolate tour was very interesting and informative. The frog and sloths tour was really good. The guide really knew where to look for the frog and sloths. We saw lots. Recommended.

We did this tour with tour guide Minor who was excellent. He was very friendly and helpful. We were a bit limited on the types of activities we could do with our 4 yr old and this excursion was definitely fun for all of us. The coffee and cacao portion was very yummy and interactive. We saw how they grew both beans and picked them. The rainforest sloth and frog tour was also very fun and we got to see many sloths, frogs and snakes. Tono at the sanctuary was very daring and helped all of us get some great shots of the animals. Lunch at the restaurant adjacent to the sanctuary was delicious, we chose the typical casado. All in all a great time.

Greivin our guide was great. First he took us to a coffee chocolate farm tour in the Bijagua area and then to a sloth ecological farm in the same area. Both were handled by different guides, so he was the driver and the coordinator. On the way he bought us some local snacks. He also took us to a local farm (that wasn’t included in the plan), and we played with cows and did milking. Overall he was very kind and was making sure we were having a great time.

Nez was a great guide. Gave us some info on Costa Rica on the way to the excursion and was happy to tell us about his country. We started with the cocoa and coffee tour where we went onto a local farm and got to pick a few coffee berries. They then took us to a greenhouse where they dry the beans and finally took us to a section where we got to grind up and brew our own coffee. We also watched them toast and grind up cocoa nibs and made hot chocolate. The rainforest animal tour was amazing. It is going to be different every time because the animals can be unpredictable (like we only saw two frogs), but we saw a baby sloth so up close. It was on a branch near the ground so we got within a few feet of it. So cute and worth it!! The provided lunch was a giant portion and was delicious and filling. Overall I think the tour was great and we were back to our hotel by 3:30. Nez also stopped for us at a local souvenir shop/ convenience store so we could pick up a few things before we got back to the hotel.
