Searching for an affordable and fun way to get out to the famous Salt Lick BBQ and two (2) beautiful Texas Hill Country wineries? Look no further! This Hill Country BBQ and Wine Shuttle is great for solo travelers, couples, and small groups. The shuttle departs from the Austin Visitor Center at 10:30AM and heads out to the Driftwood area of the Texas Hill Country approx. 35-45 minutes southwest of Austin. Enjoy comfortable transportation in a Mercedes Sprinter van with a friendly local guide. Spend 45-50 minutes at each stop. Food/drinks not included in the shuttle price; guests pay directly at the restaurant and wineries. NOTE: This is an early lunch so come hungry!

Due to winery requirements, this tour is for 21+
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start time for check in. We are unable to delay the tour for guests who arrive late.
Parking is available in the Austin Convention Center Garage which is connected to the Austin Visitor Center. Enter the garage on E 5th St between Red River and Sabine.
The tour runs rain or shine, however we reserve the right to cancel the tour in the event of extreme weather and/or hazardous road conditions that would potentially affect the safety of our guides and guests.
Guests with limited mobility are welcome to bring a wheelchair or portable scooter on board to be folded and placed in the rear of the van. The vans are not equipped with a ramp or wheelchair lift however, so all guests must be able to step up into the vehicle (about 12 inches).
Due to vendor regulations, pets and emotional support animals are generally NOT permitted. Guests with a service dog MUST contact the local tour operator in advance to request approval.
NOTE: This is an early lunch stop so come hungry!
If you have cold or flu-like symptoms or if you are feeling ill in any way, please do not join the tour.

Visit the world famous Salt Lick to fill up on delicious Texas BBQ! Please note that the tour price does not include any alcohol, tastings, or food. We recommend budgeting $35/person for the BBQ lunch and each wine tasting costs $17-20 + tax/tip.

5.00Highly recommend!!! Very clean van with a smaller group who all became friends by the end of the tour. Such fun to see the big BBQ pit and try some Texas BBQ! The banana bread pudding was amazing! Visited 2 wineries and tried some delicious local wines and learned a lot about the history of the vineyards and about grapes. Staff at each place was so welcoming and made the experience fun! Luke was an amazing tour guide and full of knowledge!

5.00The experience was terrific! Evan, our tour guide made each of us on the tour feel welcome and comfortable. The food and wine we had on the tour was excellent. I would highly recommend this tour when visiting Austin.

5.00We had a fantastic day with Joel! He is very knowledgeable about the area. The wineries we visited were great and Salt Lick was delicious. Joel gave us some great suggestions for dinner when we got back to Austin. I would recommend this tour for a fun and relaxing day in hill country.

5.00I did a ton of research before choosing this tour and it fully exceeded my expectations. We had an amazing tour guide Jax who truly made the experience so fun. She was so knowledgeable about the wineries and Austin in general and gave us great recommendations. Salt Lick was DELICIOUS. I also made a request specifically to go to Driftwood winery when I signed up for the tour and they made that accommodation for me! The meeting place at Austin Visitors Center was absolutely adorable with good shopping and coffee. The people that work in there were also extremely helpful and kind. Truly such a great experience for the price. Highly recommend choosing this tour!!

4.00I was excited to taste some barbecue and check out some wineries in Texas. The tour ended up being a private tour because no one else booked this tour. It was me and my mother on this tour. The first stop was the barbecue restaurant. It was only 11am and I wasn’t hungry. The barbecue was good nothing special , but good. The staff was average like the food. The next stop was a winery in Driftwood which was nothing special. Once again, it was just me and my mother at the winery. I tasted 5 different wines for $25. Not expensive, but was matter of fact. There was no tour of the winery, no explanation how the wine is made and lasted about 6 minutes. Not worth $25. The next stop was another winery in Driftwood which, our guide, Joel, gave us a tour of the winery and brief explanation about the wines. The guy at this winery was nicer, but gave no other explanation about the wines. And then that was the end of the tour. Our guide dropped us off at our hotel which was appreciated. Joel was nice and a good tour guide. This tour needs to add sightseeing to the itinerary because I paid $65 and I don’t think it was worth it. I thought Joel was a good tour guide , but the tour itself was average. It needs some improvements . The tours in Washington, Napa, Sonoma, and others always include the tastings and sometimes the food.

3.00Luke was great as guide. Salt lick was yummy, but one of the wineries was truly awful. Fall River wine was terrible— not a single good wine. Would not recommend anyone go there. The second winery, Dutchman, was better and more scenic with decent wine and a more helpful set of options to personalize to your tastes.
