5.00Michael was a super guide, one of the best we have ever had. Easy to understand, super-efficient at driving through some really heavy rainstorms, finding local treats that we would enjoy and setting up an impromptu wine tasting, and providing meaningful explanations of all the wonders that we saw. The Tatras were really beautiful, and we had a lovely stroll around a glacial lake while the more energetic of our group headed off on a 5-mile hike. The village tour was charming and the Bojnice Castle was gorgeous. All in all a great albeit long day!

4.00Overall this tour was great and I enjoyed myself. The guide, Michal, was excellent. But, I was apparently on a different tour than what other people in my group had booked. (Through getyourguide) Theirs was mainly castles while mine also had the Tatra mountains and lake. We spent too long at Bojnice Castle, (the castles tour’s fault, not our guide’s fault) Other people in the group didn’t want to see the lake because it was raining and it was a long drive from Bojnice to the lake. The rain stopped soon after and the weather might have been great at the lake. The lake was my main reason for booking this tour. This also would’ve meant not seeing Beckov Castle but I wouldn’t have minded. The wine tasting there was nice though but we could’ve done that anywhere. Michal also took us to a location not on any tour which has nice views and the sunset there was really pretty. We only got back after 22h. I was picked up at 7:30 in the morning. I don’t think there’d been less time away if we had gone to the lake. My tour had the entrance to Bojnice and lunch included but I still had to pay. I did get a refund at the end of the day. I’d recommend this tour mainly because of the guide. But next time I’m going to check beforehand what is exactly planned as different people had different tours booked for different prices.
