Brilliant! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Very informative with the odd but if humour thrown in so definitely not boring.

The tour was more engaging than I had expected, thanks to our guide, Martina! I didn't feel the 2,5h go by, instead I just followed the exciting storytelling about Bratislava. I found the information very interesting, the stops well thought out, and the tour easy to walk to. Even though we were a big group, Martina managed to make us all want to get involved in the conversation, so honestly chapeau :)

I had the absolute best time exploring Bratislava with Katarine. She did a wonderful job balancing the heavy history of the city with lighthearted stories and local legends. As a solo traveler, I really appreciated how engaging and conversational she was—I walked away feeling like I truly understood the culture, not just the architecture. Katarine is professional, knowledgeable, and clearly an expert. A 10/10 experience that I can't recommend enough!

It was our first time in Slovakia and we decided to spend our time to join their free walking tour service. We only stayed for 1 night in Bratislava and we would like to use the short time wisely. 1. Online booking We booked online a day before when we were still in Budapest and gladly we found 3 spots for us. We needed to pay 1€ for a booking which was strange but I paid anyway. We would receive the confirmation through our email. 2. We chose an English free city and a castle tour at 15:00. The meeting point is near Bratislava city hall. There was a big tree a few meters from it. There were 4 adults and 1 child in our group which was the minimum number of people to run the tour. It was almost like a private tour. 3. Roman was our English guide. He spoke English well. The tour lasted almost 2.5 hours which was good. He is super knowledgeable about his country Slovakia and its history. He always gave us 1 - 5 minutes time to take a picture or ask questions. 4. We visited Bratislava church and castle, some historic buildings and architectures. It was a great tour. After the tour, he gave us a small paper about the local recommendations (food, restaurants, and other things) which was helpful. P.S I felt a bit strange when he mentioned the minimum tip for the free walking tour was 20€. It would probably be enough if you say "since it is a free tour, I appreciate any tip you give for the company to keep running." So that I do not feel any pressure of giving the tip!

The tour covers the essential places from the City Center. If you want to explore some of the locations visited you may find specific tours for that (e.g. inside the castle).
