Loved the old Stave church and the beautiful scenery. Also liked walking down the side of the falls.

My husband and I are not really tour people, however our guide, Stijn, gave us an outstanding tour (and has given us a new appreciation of guided tours!) We arrived in Flåm via shuttle, and he was there to make sure people knew where to go. One of our fellow tourists had some difficulty walking, and Stijn offered to bring the van to pick him up. At the viewpoint Stegastein, he commented that at a few of our stops, the restrooms (WC) might not be open, and gave us the suggestion that we might want to take advantage of them when we can (ladies, bring tissue, as the public rest stops might not have any!) Also at Stegastein, Stijn offered to take our photos with the spectacular view as a backdrop. Though the mini bus is very comfortable, the 2nd stop on the Snowy Road is windy and cold—bring a jacket! In Laerdal, a charming small village in the midst of stunning scenery, we had about an hour to buy lunch. Most of us took Stijn’s recommendation and headed to the bakery and to walk around the old village. Last, we came to the Borgund Stave Church, and Stijn shared many interesting details about its construction and use. All throughout the day, he shared interesting facts about Norwegian wildlife, nature and culture. In addition to speaking 5 languages (he’s Dutch!), he is very knowledgeable and studied about plants and the geological history (formation of the fjords) of the region. Stijn also shared several misconceptions about the Vikings, as promoted by the films or historians who didn’t agree with the Viking’s religious beliefs—very interesting! Nils, our driver, must be commended for smoothly navigating the narrow roads and for providing humor and interesting comments on the way. My husband and I were so impressed with Stijn! We cannot believe how much we learned today! We highly recommend the tour for views of the countryside and to enjoy this personable guide! 5⭐️+++!!!

This was a great way to spend a day. If I had to change anything I'd say perhaps a bit less time on the stop along the Snowy Road and more in Laerdal, plus I really would have liked to go inside the stave church. But overall it covers a lot of ground, giving a great taste of the beauty and culture of the area. It's really hard to get it all in with only a day to dedicate to the area, but this tour does a formidable job of giving the traveler a satisfying look at this amazing region.

Bas was an incredible tour guide with amazing enthusiasm; he truly made the tour a wonderful experience for my family and I. I would highly recommend this tour - the itinerary is spectacular with beautiful views all around. Bas took us to all the scenic routes and made sure to give us wonderful information about all the sites we visited. Everything was well-organized all throughout and he made sure to get us back to the bus stop with much time to spare before our cruise left the port.
