Cabo Da Roca

O ponto mais ocidental da Europa Continental, o Cabo da Roca. Registos históricos apontam para a existência de um forte no Cabo da Roca no séc. XVII que teve um papel importante na vigia da entrada de Lisboa, formando uma linha defensiva ao longo da costa, sobretudo durante as Guerras Peninsulares. Atualmente existem apenas vestígios, para além do farol que continua a ser um ponto importante para a navegação. Está integrado no Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais e é um dos motivos de interesse dos percursos pedestres que aqui se podem fazer ao longo da costa.

National Palace of Pena

Perched atop the Sintra Mountains, Pena Palace is one of Portugal’s most iconic and romantic landmarks. This colorful 19th-century palace is a masterpiece of Romanticism, combining Gothic, Manueline, Moorish, and Renaissance architectural styles in a truly unique and whimsical design. Commissioned by King Ferdinand II, the palace was built on the ruins of a former monastery and completed in 1854. It served as a royal summer residence and reflects the king’s artistic vision and passion for nature and architecture. Surrounded by the lush Pena Park, a vast forested area with exotic trees, hidden paths, and stunning viewpoints, the palace offers breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding region — and even the Atlantic Ocean on clear days.
